I know that a good portion of people here debate in Texas, so my question is how is TFA STATE? This is going to by the first time that my partner and I attend the tournament and we have some questions. 1) How difficult really is the tournament? 2)Are there any scholarships associated with making it to the tournament as well as doing well in the tournament? 3)How are the judges? 4)How many teams are there(for CX)? 5)Is it more policy or critically aligned? *anything else that it is important to know about the tournament? thanks,
  2. I had a debate buzzword on my mind that is a general response to kritiks that don't take a stance on state action, and i cannot recall what it is called, does anyone know what i may be referring to?

  5. So I know that state is a ways off, but I'd be interested to hear which teams are going from y'all's districts. E-mo qualifiers are as follows: Parkway Central FM Ladue MD Jeff City CL Marquette BJ LNHS VW LNHS RS PHHS LY I'll update this post with qualifiers from other districts as y'all report them.
  6. Long story short, my partner failed his french class with a 0 because he didn't do any work and now he's not eligible for Texas TFA state competition. I'm considering to maverick there and I'm wondering if there are any tricks and tips on mavericking. I'm also wondering if mavericking is an option or not for Texas TFA state because it didn't specify on the website.

    UIL State 2014

I thought we should have a separate thread than the "predictions" one for Results/Breaks, etc. Round one is going on now.
