Good K strats vs disease affs?

Besides death or some generic/misapplied security cards I don't have a good strategy for affs with disease impacts, what do yall reccomend? i normally read things like security or other reps Ks, but also some Nietzsche, so preferably something kind of in that realm.

    Dedev as a Net Benefit

I was interested in making a Deseg CP to answer Title 1/Econ affs with Dedev as the net benefit. What are your thoughts on that?

    erpa (neg?)

What should you run when you're neg and someone runs erpa. Also if anyone has any negative evidence for erpa that they would like to share that would be much appreciated.

    Negative help needed!

Hello guys, I'm new to the community but am a fairly experienced debater. I debate in the Texas UIL and NFL circuits. This being said, districts is coming up soon and I recently by (not so) legitimate means, came upon my main competitions case. Great right?! Problem being; I have no Idea how to attack it! If you are interested in helping me, please continue reading, otherwise the rest of this post is useless to you. CASE RUNDOWN: A clarification case on a trade agreement between the U.S. and Venezuela. One sentence within the agreement states that "After 2002 the U.S. will stop exporting as much rice to Venezuela." They just change this to clarify how much rice, but they are not decreasing or increasing the amount traded. They claim all sorts of crazy advantages like biodiversity and economic and the such. They also defend against any DA or workability argument by claiming no link because they only are clarifying an already existing agreement. And judges are buying the case! Its working apparently! Therefore I need arguments and/or evidence that will work against them. I have topicality covered but I was thinking significance could probably be a good argument as well. I just need help guys! please!
  8. I know that the affirmative can straight turn a DA by either: Using the link (i.e. non-uniqueness + link turn) Using the impact (i.e. impact take-out + impact turn) But as negative, how can you get out of the straight turn? The negative has to go for the straight turn, but is there any chance and/or way of winning the argument?

    Negative Affirmatives

I'm not sure if you know what I'm talking about when I say negative affirmatives, as I've coined the term myself. I was thinking of writing a case that's nearly the opposite of a typical affirmative, such as one using my negative evidence to make the affirmative. An example would be banning seismic testing in the ocean, lengthening the drill ban, etc. Does anybody have any ideas for this? We did one last year strengthening the embargo.

    Perf Con Good

I was wondering if anyone had any cards or blocks saying perf cons are good? I wanted to have some fun against Funding equity affs by running Econ DA and Dedev.

    K Literature

Hey people, I am a 3rd year debater at Olathe North HS, KS, going into my Senior year next year. I'm relatively new to running K's. This will be my 2nd year debating only varsity, and I am very intrigued and interested in learning more about K theory, and running K's. I've been fairly successful and placed in my share of harder tournaments, and I've hit plenty of K's, i just want to get a larger knowledge on K theory. If anyone has any advice or tips on lit that i should read, please post below. Thanks~! P.S.~ I understand the essentials of Cap K, Neolib, Race K, and the Fem K. I am intrigued by the false heroism (Batman K), and other similar ones (not just because the name sounds cool) haha. Thanks

    Taking down a K Aff

Hi all, As a 2N, it is so frustrating going against K affs. Obviously, there isn't one solid universal negative strategy vs. a K aff but I was hoping somebody could explain was is and what isn't a good idea. Last time (vs. an Identity K aff) we ran framework and topicality and on case and lost... I've been looking into the Faun K and that looks interesting but I don't know if I'm ready for such an abstract argument. Thanks(:

  16. Has anyone tried using any arguments in their cases about this topic involving xenotransplantation as an alternative to organ procurement, particularly Negative? How would you argue against it on Affirmative? I'm thinking about using it as an argument for one of my contentions on my Negative case. Would it be good to use, or is it a terrible idea?
  17. I've created a Baudrillard negative for Big Questions (not that I'll ever find a judge who can understand it), and since I'm pretty new to Baudrillard in general I'm wondering whether it would work. Keep in mind that I'm a policy debater and that it's structured much like a policy neg would be structured, and since BQ is basically just the antithesis of policy, this probably isn't a great neg to run. I decided to write it because I'm interested in Baudrillard and I really want to understand his arguments so I can run and beat Baudrillard args in policy. Basically, I cut the Animals, an entire chapter of Baudrillard's Simulacra and Simulations. What he says (or what I think he says rather) is humans consider animals to be inferior and different to humans because of their endorsement of the hyperreality. More specifically, they use the fact that animals are unconscious as a reason that humans are better than animals, when in fact we used to be unconscious too. He cites the Levi-Strauss experiment, which had the result of pointing out human and animal brain structures are remarkably similar, if not almost the exact same. How I'd use Baudrillard's arguments is as both a critique and an actual case neg. It basically just shits on the sample affirmative given, which literally just cites a bunch of arguments centered around human reasoning. I'm gonna write a role of the ballot argument in the constructive which says that BQ is inherently pointless and the ballot has only ever been used to quench the debaters' thirst for the ballot. I say that the the role of the judge is to use the ballot as a catalyst for change. So, instead of saying we have any hope of solving the real world impacts of hyperreality, going for the impact that we can at least influence the minds of the debaters and the judge in the round, and the ballot should be used as a sort of endorsement for change, and that the judge should use the ballot to say "Fuck the evils of the affirmative, the negative is right and the aff logic is racist (animalist?) as shit." In the BQ tournament im going to there will be a few policy/circuit LD debaters that can understand Baudrillard, so I didn't just write this case for my own satisfaction. Yeah, I 100 percent wrote it for my own satisfaction. If you want the negative, just dm me and I'll link it to you. Keep in mind that my wording is probably trash and probably doesn't work, and the 1 card in the neg is most likely cut terribly.

    New Neg Strats

Our state-qualifying tournament is coming up next week and we're breaking in some new negative arguments for our strat. They include the qddr CP, a nanotech DA, and the cybersecurity DA. Does anyone have any blocks and a/ts for and against these arguments? Any cards or logic would be great.
