I pretty much understand how to use Baudrillard on the neg, but I was wondering how an aff for that would function. I'm aiming for a disaster porn-esque sort of argument, but is there anything else that would work reasonably well (instead of disaster porn). Any literature that actually makes sense would be much appreciated! Pls help me I'm using it for parli not policy so you won't get it run on you
  3. I heard about a card by an author named Connolly in an HS Impact podcast, and I've been trying to find the author/article it's from so I can cut it, but I haven't had any luck because it's not on the files I've looked at and there are multiple authors named Connolly who write about the same thing. The card's a defense to set col/antiblackness/any other k that presents a theory of how the world operates by saying (from what I inferred in the podcast) that there are no overarching social theories. Has anyone heard of this card, or can give me the article it comes from? It's possible that it comes from William E. Connolly, but he's published multiple books and I'm not sure which one it would come from.

  5. As a high school debater, I'm finding news articles less and less satisfactory, especially when it comes to making economic arguments, especially about generalizations about capital flows, banks, and the like. The literature base on high-level economic theory (at least the free stuff) seems pretty hard to find online, and I never seem to know what I'm looking for. When it comes to philosophy, things get even worse.Where do you people even FIND the ramblings of these people? I have no idea. I have a sneaking suspicion that for once in my life, going to the library might be easier than looking it up online...
  6. So I have read a few books by and about Deleuze and Guattari, now I am looking for more topic specific literature to potentially cut an affirmative. Does anybody know exactly where I can look for essays/books or how I should begin my search? I have already searched on Academia.edu but didn't find anything really special. Additionally, if anybody has any essays that aren't directly related to the topic but are still about DnG, I'd love to have them.
  7. Hey people, I am a 3rd year debater at Olathe North HS, KS, going into my Senior year next year. I'm relatively new to running K's. This will be my 2nd year debating only varsity, and I am very intrigued and interested in learning more about K theory, and running K's. I've been fairly successful and placed in my share of harder tournaments, and I've hit plenty of K's, i just want to get a larger knowledge on K theory. If anyone has any advice or tips on lit that i should read, please post below. Thanks~! P.S.~ I understand the essentials of Cap K, Neolib, Race K, and the Fem K. I am intrigued by the false heroism (Batman K), and other similar ones (not just because the name sounds cool) haha. Thanks
  8. Hello, Cross-X. I am wanting to try some minor K debate so that I can have a better understanding of what I will be facing at Nat Quals. I was directed at either learning Anthro or Cap, so I choose Cap 'cause Anthro is really generic and not very strong in round. Simply put, my partner would waste his breath in the 1NC and the K wouldn't make it past the 2NC. However, I am pretty new to CX, and don't completely understand how a K functions in round. So, my question is how do you correctly run a K and where do I need to go to get more understanding on Cap Bad. Any additional info would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
  9. Hello everyone, I am thinking of running one-off psychoanalysis at my next tournament. I have some basic knowledge of psychoanalysis from Freud and Lacan. I am just transitioning myself towards high-theory now. Does anyone recommend any literature that I could read in regards to psychoanalysis, especially pertaining to race and identity. I would prefer articles that are in pdf forms so I could also share with my partner. Side note: SInce I am beginning to transition myself, I hope for something that's easier to digest and gradually build my knowledge up. Thank you
