  1. I was wondering if someone could find a card or even an article that pertains to Bataille's Expenditure relating to the Oceans, whether it make a link argument or an alt solves argument, I want to ground my Kritik as much as I can into the topic.
  2. I was wondering if someone could find a card or even an article that pertains to Bataille's Expenditure relating to the Oceans, whether it make a link argument or an alt solves argument, I want to ground my Kritik as much as I can into the topic
  3. Everyone is talking about running DnG (nomadic args), anthro, and Heideggarian tech bad ev Ks next year. Is the generic answer file to using tools to advance the capabilities to the human race just going to be Baudy prioritizing self to self reels over self to nature? Can people just throw out some new ideas for answers to these individually? *Disclaimer: I know these Ks aren't carbon-copies of each other
  4. Looking for a pretty comprehensive Schopenhauer K. Have plenty to trade - PM me.
  5. So I was wondering if a kritik of this nature already exists under another name. I am calling it the "RNK" (right now kritik) or the "Mindfulness kritik." Basically, we kritik the other team for being focused on the past or future, so anything that has impacts outside of just the round, saying that focusing on the past or future is bad, and that we should focus on the present, the only time we are alive. In-round dehumanization is the impact. Any thoughts on the argument? Does this kritik or a similar one already exist? What is it called if it does? Thanks! -Taute
  6. So Loyola has this interestingly weird affirmative (I've never hit it) the "Quantum mechanics Aff" They have it publicly listed and attached on the wiki, so I'm attaching it here. How would you go about responding to this aff. Teams that I know have competed against this aff have gone with the boring Cap + Framework strategy but not too thrilled about that.... 7. Hey everyone, I would greatly appreciate if everyone could give me an explanation of how to answer Capitalism Good Turns. For example, Cap Solves War, Inequality, Poverty, Space, Racism, Warming. all with cards as to why citing aggregate data or whatever else. They also say that the examples of capitalism our cards mention are all pure capitalism, but the US has nuances and regulations of capitalism. How do you defend against those cap turns and other cap arguments? I feel like when I run cap, its a lost cause. Any tech arguments? Sincerely appreciate anything anyone can offer.
  8. looking for a faciality file, 1nc, aff, etc. tons to trade, pm me.
  9. I want to get more into the K realm over the summer and need some books to read to catch me up on the basic lit that I need to know to understand the critical side more. I just need to get in touch with some all around basics and the premises of most major critiques, especially Agamben/Biopower/Fearism. So what is the basic literature that I need to read over the summer?
  10. So basically, I'm looking for cards that link Bipower and Capitalism to a Heidegger Kritik. I know how they link but I'm lacking the cards and all my searches are leading to papers that I have to buy to see. Cites would be great, cards would be even better. Thanks.

    Baudrillard?

I pretty much understand how to use Baudrillard on the neg, but I was wondering how an aff for that would function. I'm aiming for a disaster porn-esque sort of argument, but is there anything else that would work reasonably well (instead of disaster porn). Any literature that actually makes sense would be much appreciated! Pls help me I'm using it for parli not policy so you won't get it run on you
  12. If anyone has any pdf's of Baudrillard please help me out. I will trade files as well. Specifically The Perfect Crime, but I would like any of his books in reality. Thanks.

    Fugitivity

Can somebody help me fully understand this K? I am interested but I just need some more understanding.
  15. So, I'm going to a progressive tournament this weekend (for the first time in forever, the stock judges are slowly strangling me), and I'm really interested in the 1-Off K strat. My sibling said that I should focus on Heidegger and Biopower, but I was wondering what else would make for a good 1-Off K (preferably something that I can make a file off of relatively quickly/not Nietzsche or Schopey). I'm not really interested in winning at this tournament-- more experimentation and testing the waters (hopefully my first time in progressive Varsity!) if anything. To save time, I'm mainly interested in race theory (but it's starting to get really common and idk if it's a good idea for me to run it), queer theory (not strategically sound but kinda hella because queerness), and idk maybe things with good root cause arguments...? Thanks in advance!
  16. I am trying to figure out if people win with an alternative along the lines of "Vote affirmative to show you support the K, therefore solving it in the real world." If you've won with a K with a similar alternative, please tell me what K it was and what the alternative text stated.
  17. So my partner and I hit a team who had something called the "Pozo Kritik" on their wiki, all they had on the actually page was this "1NC Pozo The world is a dark and hopeless place - the affirmative’s politics of optimism and affirmation cause us to ignore our own complicity in violence—negation resolves the aff better Pozo 9 (ANTONIO GUTIÉRREZ, Filozofická fakulta, Sevilská univerzita, Sevilla, Španielsko POZO, A. G.: Utopia in Black: The Negative Aesthetics of Adorno and the Contemporary Black Art, FILOZOFIA 64, 2009, No 5, p. 481-6)--mm *We don’t endorse holocaust rhetoric. The Materialistic Aesthetics AND through the works." I found this and http://www.klemens.sav.sk/fiusav/doc/filozofia/2009/5/481-491.pdf and http://connection.ebscohost.com/c/essays/96657760/adorno-revolution-negative-utopia and this http://connection.ebscohost.com/c/essays/12371415/fabricating-future-becoming-blochs-utopians online, but I'm curious about a full shell or at least some alts or other parts to the kritik.
  18. So I run neg against a local team and they always run the perm - methodological pluralism. The specific tag is "Perm – methodological pluralism combines multiple schools of thought to reclaim IR as emancipatory praxis and avoid endless political violence." How do you answer this? Can you say they sever out of advocating for their own plan text? I specifically ran cap and security k against this team, both times losing on this perm. Anything will help!!
  19. Hey guys, I'm trying to learn how to write kritiks as I'm from a pretty progressive area for LD. I know how to do plans, disads, and tradition LD cases, but I have zero experience with kritiks. Can someone explain the format of a kritik, how to debate for and against it, and explain some generic type of k's like cap, anthro, antiwhiteness? Thanks!
  20. What's a good way to attack k's that you've never heard of? I'm running a k aff, and usually people run random K's against them, so I was wondering how to answer them and if there's a file with good a2 frontlines

    Nietzsche K

How would I go about building a Nietzsche K for the Public Forum February topic? Any cards would be greatly appreciated.
  22. So, as i understand it, because K's don't have uniqueness, the reason the judge should vote on them is to reject bad knowledge production by the aff, whether it be epistemology, ontology, whatever. It seems like it's impossible to argue consequentialism framework on a K. Take for example neolib. Without uniqueness, it's impossible to assess the impact of the plan itself because we don't know by how much the plan spreads neoliberalism. That's why we argue instead that the judge should reject the aff on the grounds that they engage in neoliberal discourse and neoliberalism is bad for x y and z reasons. So am I wrong in this assessment? Is it possible to run a consequentialism framework on kritiks? Do all kritiks have to reject fiat and focus on in-round knowledge production? If so, is it possible to run framework on a k while at the same time running a PIC such as consult or condition, or any advocacy that links to the k, without performative contradiction? Thanks!
  23. Basically the title... non-genocide, non-biodiversity (leads to extinction) etc. etc. PM me about what files you need... i don't have giant amounts but I'm going to camp this summer where i should get some, plus, I already have some decent stuffs.
  24. I have been studying up on baudrillard literature and noticed that he talks about a lot. And the question that I would pose is that what critique would be the best for the purposes of winning a round. I really like the idea of the catastrophe fix and the whole terrorism performance thing. But i'm not sure how they hold up in round. Any advice would be helpful.
