  2. Any supplies besides the obvious (clothes labtop etc) that you regret not taking with you to Debate Camp? I leave Sunday morning at 3 AM for Weber State and am curious as to any last minute things I should buy.
  3. My alt is essentially an argument that the opponent is engaging in a bad act, and we need to do "X," I know its pretty straightforward, but I know people who add more nuance to this form of a K. Ive heard of justifications for why it needs to start in round, or maybe some ROB argument. Anyone have any ideas or braod cards that go with this type of alt?

  8. I finished writing a new affirmative that i'm very excited about. it's a Baudrillard Aff, and i have a tournament in the morning that i'm going to break it at. My issue is that i don't want people saving my hours of hard work and next tournament me get destroyed every round because of it. how do i save a document as a flash drive version so that it can't be saved onto their laptops? i've seen other teams do it, but i can't find it online.

So I was wondering whether anyone in the Nevada area would be interested in judging policy debate at the invitational. If so, please contact me at haran.kushal@gmail.com and we can discuss the price over email.
  11. Hello, my name is Allen Easley, and I suck at my 2N overviews. I find them being ineffective and a time suck to my speech. If you have any general tip for the construct of my overviews that would be fantabular. Also, If you have any general tips that would be radical. Thanks y'all. *Notice the non-gendered usage of y'all? Yep, I am not sexist at all.
  12. I was wondering if anyone had a working link/doc to the transcript for this? I had a dropbox link some time ago but it no longer works. "Irvine RR Conference - Discussion with Frank B. Wilderson III"
  13. First, I am wondering how the neg would respond to the aff trying to perm the alt? I.E aff runs arguments that very clearly relate to capatalism but perms the alt that socialism is the answer OR, and more to my inquiry, if the neg runs a k on the langauge/framing the aff uses as morally bad and the aff either perms and says "aff will just adopt alt/fix language/paradigm." I see this as kinda unfair bc it isnt like a perm to a cp; it is literally the aff realzing they lost on the k and using their own concession as a way to dismiss the k. Also, can the neg run a ROB in the 1nc? Seems kinda abusive, bc the aff never gets real chance to engage?
  14. I found this just a little wile ago, kind of hard to describe but basicaly its a google search tool (it has google dorks coded into it if you know what those are). Basicaly makes finiding what you need a whole lot easier, hope you enjoy http://googlehelper.4shared.com
  15. What is the general range of speaker points at big-stick national tournaments like Greenhill and Glenbrooks. I understand speaks vary depending on the (level of difficulty of the) tournament, but is there an accepted range that judges follow? Note: This is specific to national tournaments, I know basic stuff like thirties don't happen and a twenty-five means you're a terrible person/ debater; 29 is pretty high/ really good, 29.5 is excellent/ not much you can change; just curious as to other debaters' experiences. Also, why are none of the useful, unanswered questioned asked on this site :/ Get rid of flood control on the search bar and half the questions disappear because they've been asked before...

  18. Hey there! I'm one of the few hundred people who got waitlisted at Cal Invitational. I was thinking for those of you who were still going to be in the area or on campus, it might be fun to do some rounds in areas on campus. After all, debate is more about education and learning than anything else, right? Let me know if any of you would like to debate!
