  3. Hey The debate team I am on, is going out of state to Springfield in a couple of weeks for the Parkview tournament in Missouri. There will be competitors in LD, PF, CX, and Congress from my school! I was wondering if anyone had any information on what the Missouri circuit was like for those events? What types of arguments are popular for each of those events? Is spreading popular? Is there anything different about those events on the Missouri circuit? Thank you all so much

    Paper Debating Kritik

I'm looking for a kritik of debating on paper. Something about how using paper instead of a computer kills trees and is bad for biodiversity. Does it even exist? I'll be willing to trade some neolib or Kappeler stuff for it. Thanks in advance.

Be a part new debate documentary!

Hi, this is the director and producer of the film We Affirm! We Affirm is a new and upcoming documentary about the world of high school debate. We created this film with the intention to educate those not in the debate community about what exactly it is that we do and why we are so passionate about it. We also want this to be a film for debaters by debaters, which is where you guys come in! We want to be able to have debaters from all across the nation and globe to a part of this film. One of the biggest aspects of this film is focusing on the voice of debaters and letting them share how debate has affected their lives. If you would like to be a part of this, then just create a video and send it to weaffirmdoc@gmail.com . The video does not have to be anything fancy and can really just be shot on your webcam. All you need to do is say your name and where you are from and then answer the following questions: Why did you join debate? After joining, why have you chosen to stick around? How has debate impacted or changed your life? We look forward to working with all of you and hope to hear back from you all soon! If you would like to learn more about us you can check out our Indie Go Go page, too. igg.me/at/we-affirm-debate-documentary

    Realism Good K

    2 questions for LD

First, I am wondering how the neg would respond to the aff trying to perm the alt? I.E aff runs arguments that very clearly relate to capatalism but perms the alt that socialism is the answer OR, and more to my inquiry, if the neg runs a k on the langauge/framing the aff uses as morally bad and the aff either perms and says "aff will just adopt alt/fix language/paradigm." I see this as kinda unfair bc it isnt like a perm to a cp; it is literally the aff realzing they lost on the k and using their own concession as a way to dismiss the k. Also, can the neg run a ROB in the 1nc? Seems kinda abusive, bc the aff never gets real chance to engage?

    7 week debate camps

So this year I attended UTNIF 3 Weeks Skills Intensive and I really enjoyed it. From the people I met to how much better I got at debate. From my great experience and success in this season so far, I was wondering and already planning to attend a 7 week debate camp. The questions that I am most concerned with at the moment are: 1) What are the best 7 week debate camps and why? 2) What was your experience (if you went to it) and do you think it was worth it/how much better did you become? P.S. I already know that how much better you become is dependent on how seriously you take the camp as well as how much you actually work.

    Debate Laptop

What's a relatively affordable, good laptop to buy for debate and why? When looking for a laptop for debate, what exactly should I be looking for? I know it needs a decent amount of battery life, but how much RAM, etc?

    Answering Crip Poetics/Ableism Kritiks

I usually read affs centered on identity politics, and am trying to prep answers to Crip Poetics/Ableism but am not sure what kinds of arguements are effective. The only concrete answer I have is 1 card that warrants a perm (doing the advocacy in the mindset of the alt), but it isn't the best of cards/args College Prep is one I've noticed, but there are definitely more teams reading this kritik/performance http://hspolicy.debatecoaches.org/College+Prep/Harper-Sessions+Neg Cards would be good too, or just args

Hello, my name is Allen Easley, and I suck at my 2N overviews. I find them being ineffective and a time suck to my speech. If you have any general tip for the construct of my overviews that would be fantabular. Also, If you have any general tips that would be radical. Thanks y'all. *Notice the non-gendered usage of y'all? Yep, I am not sexist at all.

  20. My partner and I have been hitting a lot of NAD Bank and just overall Mexico cases. We were wondering if anyone had some DA's or Counterplans that are effective against them. We have a few but need some more to stay competitive. We are willing to do a trade for some of the stuff we have written.

    LD- Berkeley

Hey there! I'm one of the few hundred people who got waitlisted at Cal Invitational. I was thinking for those of you who were still going to be in the area or on campus, it might be fun to do some rounds in areas on campus. After all, debate is more about education and learning than anything else, right? Let me know if any of you would like to debate!

  23. I need some help figuring out a constitutional framework. Essentially I am trying to flesh out the idea that constituionalsm is a pre-req to morality- at least when the discourse is about rights in america- because when examining the "right and legality" in america, it goes back the constitution. I have heard of other frameworks, I am just trying to figure out how the framework works, and what I would need to argue
