    LD Cases

I people, I know you are all super helpful on here and If any of you do any sort of LD and have anything on the current topic I would be intrested. I can trade policy evidence and "owe you one" to help you out next policy season, and I am ok with that or you can be a good person and help me out. Big tourney with big implications. Help out a brother. (AFF and NEG would be welcome, I need anything)
  3. How do I answer the neg argument that immigration doesn't solve aging? I am specifically looking at Camarota 16.
  4. "Technically, the US allows for dual citizenship. And yet, we also require immigrants to take a loyalty oath of exclusivity. Getting rid of that condition on immigration seems like a solid squirrel case that's readable in front of judges of all types, to me. For offense, look to criticisms of the notion of "dual loyalty", which is a phrase often used by the xenophobic, and claim the loyalty oath perpetuates such notions. If you want to get even more specific, you could remove a specific sentence from the loyalty oath and leave the rest of it." Why is this plan necessary in the context of the U.S. government? Why is the argument of xenophobia important to the U.S.? How do you know that removing the oath will solve anything? Does the oath bind them by law, or can they ignore it anyways? If it does bind them, what if many people are already ignoring it? Technically: U.S. law does not mention dual nationality or require a person to choose one nationality or another. A U.S. citizen may naturalize in a foreign state without any risk to his or her U.S. citizenship. Dual nationals owe allegiance to both the United States and the foreign country. They are required to obey the laws of both countries, and either country has the right to enforce its laws. Can you make a strong enough case that the oath trumps what the U.S. clearly stipulates? I would love to use this plan, but I'm not sure how.

    Planless Aff?

So, I compete in a primarily stock/comms area and am interested in running a K-Aff. I found one that I like but it doesn't have a plan. I'm sure this is a novice question but how would I go about running a case without a plan? Also, how do I defend T? How does the USFG substantially reduce anything?
  6. Has anyone starting a running list off known camp affs on this topic?it would gladly help if you could share im kinda out of the loop rn
  7. therin lies my question. the case is incredibly verbose to the point that it is difficult to comprehend.
  8. I’ve gone through the squirrel cases, like anarchy in America, America annexes the world, open borders with a communism adv, the list goes on. Does anyone have an aff that might be worth running?
  9. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for any obscure kritikal affs, right now I am trying to come up with something along the lines of lgbtq+ migrants.
  10. For next year my partner and I are planning on running a baudrillard kaff and I was wondering if anyone had specific tips for a baudrillard aff as well as tips for running a kaff in general. Also if anyone has tips for answering framework that would be dope.

  13. context - i used to do policy at my school, but now I'm doing LD. i now have a novice team that is going to Harvard, and would love for them to do awesome to restart my school's policy team, but I can't help them all that much because I haven't been competing this year. it would be awesome if someone could post like the top/most common 20/30 affs this year so we know where to focus our prep, thanks in advance!!
  14. What affs do y'all think people will run next year. K and Policy.
  15. Hello all, hopefully this is in the right/an adequate place I was wondering what were some nontraditional responses to critical affirmatives? I find myself persuaded by many answers to framework, truly, but in as much as my career has gone thusfar I've really only spent time with more straight up negative strategies: politics. That, combined with a small and nervous circuit in the way of critical debate that has left me only encountering two k-affs in all of my debating, has left me at a sort of loss as to what to do against them. While I ended up running and going for FW, I had a really hard time arguing for it. However, I'm not terribly well versed in many critiques, and going for FW and cap is an easy round for a team that hits it all of the time. In preparing for an aff I know someone in our circuit is about to read, I came across disads to the K aff: epistemology and science disads. I thought the idea of running multiple disads and maybe even a PEC of uncertain political action would be interesting, so I appeal to those who know more than myself with a) is that viable at all what kinds of uncommon offcase like that exist c) where would I find them d) anything else that'd be relevant based off what I've said I've heard whisperings of a Heg DA? what is that Any help is appreciated, thanks
  16. looking for answers to a terrorism disad that basically says education distracts from domestic terrorism; it's not about international terror, only national/domestic terror. impact framing cards would work fine; we have a total of 2 cards on it :l thanks!
  17. how would a debate play out if the 1ac stands up and says nothing? this happened last year during semis at a tournament in Chicago; the aff said nothing for their 1ac, the neg replied by saying nothing in their 1nc, the aff then read cards in their 2ac saying "silence good," and neg still stayed silent; the 1ar read more silence good cards and the rest of the speeches were silent. the neg won because they were more silent. in the situation above, would the best method of action for the aff be to turn their case and say silence bad? is that even possible? how would you be able to win aff on this strategy? my partner and i are considering this at a scrimmage, but we don't know how we would possibly win with this strategy or what to do if the same situation played out. if we stay silent for the entire debate the judge would vote neg on presumption, right? are there any cards/case files somebody could link me to? we are very interested in this. thanks!

    STEM AFFS

<script> </script> Hey, so i was looking at the Dartmouth STEM AFF and im kinda confessed as to why the plan text specifies that ESSA should fully fund title II and IV? the solvency cards are kinda no the best so why specify The United States federal government should fully fund grants for primary and secondary STEM education, including an emphasis on climate change and evolution, authorized by Title II and Title IV of the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015.
  19. the topic is: Resolved: The United States ought to provide a universal basic income. I'm writing a structural violence aff but it's my first time and I don't know how to do the framework.
  20. I'm at camp right now and am writing an aff case on UBI. The topic is Resolved: The United States ought to provide a universal basic income. I'd like to write a structural violence framework because that's what my case supports, but I'm really bad at framework and have never written a structural violence aff. I just need some tips/pointers. Also, if anyone has a stock util framework they can share that would be great.

    the 1ar

So the 1ar is consistently my weakness as a debater. And I always feel really bad for putting my partner in a tough spot for the 2ar. I just get overwhelmed really easily by the block just loading up the flow with tons of arguments that i can't think of answers to all of. How do i strike the balance between effectively answering everything but also not getting bogged down in the nitty gritty. Because i've found that trying to answer directly every block argument in 5 minutes just doesn't work. And if i pull it off, the overviews end up being really weak, so there's no clear direction for the 2ar. Plus the responses on the line by line are always weaker than they were in the block because timeskew. How should I be approaching the 1ar? Are there tangible ways to make this easier or is the answer just practice? thanks!
