  1. Pro or con. Mostly looking for stuff about the relevant ethical theories. What did your teams run as their ethical theories on AFF/NEG?
  2. For a school project I'm doing stuff about animal rights. If anyone has stuff on it I would appreciate it. Email joshsmithld@gmail.com, or PM/post a link to a dropbox folder. Thanks in advance.
  3. How about banning masturbation? It's an old irony AFF I found somewhere. Dunno how you'd work it in, but might be fun to try.
  4. Is that nationals doc for policy, or just puf and LD? It was intended for LD/PF. I don't think there are many policy people doing anything with it, sorry. You're welcome to add a section, but I don't know that you'll get much from it.
  5. There's a blocks request google doc here. (Not quite the quality of OP's) It's geared towards nationals. Post the tagline of a card you want, or a general argument you want, and specify if you want that argument blocked out or if you want evidence that supports the tagline.
  6. This post is pretty old, but here are two files I had: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7qgy9elqwqw0jyz/BBGVrJJy7J
  7. So is the custom here to just PM? Here's a pretty big and good file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/tgmdp3jf6xwpm47/SuperImpactFile.doc

This may help you with unknown debate terms: http://sdiencyclopedia.wikispaces.com/
  9. Here's an Agamben K https://www.dropbox.com/sh/162mwq32t5kvo5k/zvxEVluezS Here's some Human Rights K stuff I threw together for the LD interventions topic: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/945zt57gqe3ye8j/Zx2p4ZunC8 Here's an Imperialism K for the LD interventions topic: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5oizg4jhitc683l/ImperialismK-Draft1.docx None of it's amazing, but hopefully it helps.
  10. What does double dip mean in context of debate? NVM...
  11. http://www.scholasti...e-supreme-court "The Supreme Court has a special role to play in the United States system of government. The Constitution gives it the power to check, if necessary, the actions of the President and Congress. It can tell a President that his actions are not allowed by the Constitution. It can tell Congress that a law it passed violated the U.S. Constitution and is, therefore, no longer a law. It can also tell the government of a state that one of its laws breaks a rule in the Constitution. The Supreme Court is the final judge in all cases involving laws of Congress, and the highest law of all the Constitution. The Supreme Court, however, is far from all-powerful. Its power is limited by the other two branches of government. The President nominates justices to the court. The Senate must vote its approval of the nominations. The whole Congress also has great power over the lower courts in the federal system. District and appeals courts are created by acts of Congress. These courts may be abolished if Congress wishes it. The Supreme Court is like a referee on a football field. The Congress, the President, the state police, and other government officials are the players. Some can pass laws, and others can enforce laws. But all exercise power within certain boundaries. These boundaries are set by the Constitution. As the "referee" in the U.S. system of government, it is the Supreme Court's job to say when government officials step out-of-bounds." Edit- Do you really need a card to say this though? Really? Really? Sometimes I wonder if some of the rules of debate are ridiculous.
  12. Would the "alternative", for lack of a better word, of a kritical aff be the resolution then?
  13. I rarely hit kritiks, and have never hit a kritikal aff. I've been doing some general research on how they're structured. http://www.cross-x.com/topic/3261-kritikal-affs/ http://www.cross-x.com/topic/27281-structuring-a-kritikal-aff/ Does anyone have a simple explanation for me though? How you write one and how they function? Next, How do you structure a kritikal aff in LD?
  14. I never got it... Thanks though! If you could try resending it (assuming you haven't lost it again) that would be great. joshsmithld@gmail.com
  15. Has anyone heard of Foundation Briefs? If so, would you recommend them for LD and PF? Would you have an old set you could send to me? (joshsmithld@gmail.com) Thanks
