  1. Name: Roger Copenhaver Location: Eugene, Oregon Number: (253) 209-2331 Email: rcopenha@uoregon.edu Years involved in debate: 6 My name is Roger Copenhaver and I am looking to coach a team in the PNW for minimal/negotiable pay. I debated all throughout high school regionally and nationally and then for 2 years at Idaho State University where I had some success especially my 2nd year. Even with a lack of a consistent partner I still broke at tournaments, received speaker awards, and almost won my break round after being pulled up at CEDA. Last year I coached Blackfoot High School who broke at nearly every tournament they attended and made it to the semifinals of the Idaho State Tournament. I also have worked consistently with Puyallup High School in Washington who has had a large amount of success including the team who won the Washington State Tournament last year. I have attended many major tournaments on the west coast with the teams I have coached including; Whitman, Alta, and Stanford. I think my knowledge, experience, and dedication to debate would be perfect in helping your team on the road to success. I care about debate. After I graduated high school I started a camp for Puyallup High School debaters who could not afford camp in hopes that they could have some of the same experiences other children with more money were able to have over the summer and so that they could compete at the same competitive level. If you are looking for a new coach or assistant for your policy squad feel free to contact me.

  7. CP's usually don't solve gender AFFs that well unless you can find something good to PIC out of or have more of a K NB that CP doesn't link to (i.e. ID politics bad/Butler/3rd World ect....)
  8. why? committ to as little as possible.
  9. This how I view debate, however I think if you just need a judge I am qualified to do that. I have judged a few national level tournaments this year and not once have I sat on a pannel. My AFF/NEG voting record is also pretty even. I am always looking to help high schoolers improve their debating. If you want me to coach, I am more then willing. I am also willing to adapt to how you want your school to be coached. Just because I like one argument over the other does not mean I won't help with something else. But if you have a school reading gender args I have a large ammount of experience in this area. I have read, cut, and read gender args since my senior year of high school. http://judgephilosophies.wikispaces....haver%2C+Roger

  12. Better on the NEG but if you want to run it on the AFF Cal Gupta and Pai on the collge caselist does something simliar but specific to our topic if you want to do it on the AFF you really have to be ready for a framework debate because your offense does not really stem from the United States doing something its more about your inividual call to reconize that the individual should take action have to be careful they just might say your starting point is bad you still say the USFG does something - this means if they fuck up you push your responsiblity to them and deny you have a part Nayer also links to your caling about the state - should have answers to this because Nayer would probably largley agree with Kappler except he goes further to say that we should never except institutions ect
  13. anything to do with military and police presense
  14. any author that doesnt really care your general good ol guys nietzche schmitt hillman ect... your IR K's (fem secruity) are going to be better on the AFF if you are reading them corrently also depending on your advocacy Borders ect like i said on another post check out the college caselist from this year very simliar
  15. all your IR K's security Fem ect probably work pretty well on this topic you guys should all check out the college case list from this year since it is very simliar but about nuke weapons
