  1. Name: Amen Okundaye E-mail: okunao11@wfu.edu I'm looking to judge and do some coaching for teams who attend the high school Wake Forest debate Tournament and possibly tournaments. I am a student at Wake Forest University. For some information about me, I have been involved in policy debate since Middle School so that would be 7 years in Wisconsin. I ran and am familiar with all the debate args (K's, T's, DA's, Theory, etc). I traveled on the National Circuit for TOC bid tournaments, NFLs and CFLs. I broke at the Early Bird Invitational back in 07. I made it quarterfinals of CFLS my junior year and qualified 4 years of high school. I was a finalist and semifinalist for our state debate tournament. I made it to elimnation rounds twice for NFL nationals and qualified 3 times. AS for camps, I attended Miami University's 5 week camp, Marquette's MUDI camp, Northwestern's Zarefsky's Scholars, and Zag Scholars of Gonzaga. I really love debate and hope I can help out a few teams. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to contact me.

  5. I agree. At least for me, i make so much better arguments when I'm forced to adapt. Although the judges aren't the same as the judges of the national circuit that I also compete in, it makes adapting to national circuit judges a joke. Additionally, you can speak super fast on both as long as your clear and articulate. Seriously it didn't make a difference if you were going 20 words per minute or 400, my judges weren't flowing so I just stared at them to make them pay attention.
  6. This tournament was sweet, no joke. The anxiety of not knowing how the judges ate me a live though. This tournament had judges just like any other tournament where EXPLANATION is necessary to get a vote and telling the Judge WHY to vote is important. Regardless of if you can read 400 words a minute, the NFCFLs brought me back to the fundamentals of debate and what should be prioritized when making decisions.
  7. Can someone post results packet so we can see individual rounds? Thanks BTW- That tournament was freaking awesome!
  8. Is there a team list for this tournament yet?
  9. This seems awesome! I wonder how much 6 weeks could cost though. Who plans on going for Seniors?
  10. The Neenah High School Debate Team is searching for a head debate coach. We have a nationally competitive team that traveled to CFLs and broke at NFL nationals tournament. We are looking for a great organizer to help lead our team to further achievements. Many of us went to camp and have been preparing for the season. E-mail our Activities director , John Joch for further information. Also Assistant coaches would be welcome; the more the merrier.
