  1. It would be fun no doubt. But the i think your problems would come in a few areas. 1. Kids parents are way more apt to send their kids to an institution that is associated with a school than one that is not. There are a multiplicity of reasons why they would do this but a couple include: 1. That places like universities usually have a good reputation for educational excellence attached to them. Something that (although possibly aquired) that a non-associated camp would have. 2. They will have more confidence in their kids learning something with the money that they are spending on the camp. (even though it is quite possible they would learn at a non-associated one, the perception is that a universities camp would teach more) 2. Medical Issues. Schools usually have some sort of insurance and shit when it comes to Medical issues. I don't know how a non-affiliated camp would deal with this. There are probly more reasons. Although it would be fun i think it would be more trouble than its worth in some areas.
  2. Meh, if your a lazy ass (when it comes to physical activity), such as i am, then the hill will destroy you.
  3. Jackson is smarter than you all. Listen to him.
  4. prepping items for camp. Leave in 2 days.
  5. The hill will destroy you. Take this dudes advice, bring comfortable shoes.
  6. Money Towels Snacks Interesting DVD's Books Tub(s) Expando(s) Various Other things im sure.
  7. Im sure that there will be a lot better (and more fun) ideas and arguments to research once camps start/get over. Because thats when people get their first real big glimpse into the ground there will be next year.
  8. Nick is sexier than you christian.
  9. Yea dude, i really don't know what you are talking about. Aside from the people you listed there is Jason Regnier who won CEDA nations and is a hardcore badass and then Phil Samuels is a total balla. Fizzoley is right, this camp is a real gem. They have produced quality evidence year in and year out, and taught some of the best debaters in the nation. Aside from that who all applied (and were accepted to) the 3 week camp?
  10. I guess thats one of the benifits of writing your own evidence.
  11. I don't think this will really get you anywhere. Most of the time teams (that know halfway what they are doing) have answers to this shit blocked out. Even if they haven't they have pondered these type of arguments and how they would answer them in round. Most of the time an argument like this will just turn into a link for whatever the team is critiquing. I think the time spend on running this could be better spent on reading specific turns to the criticism, defense against it, permutation, theory, etc. It will get you further faster.
  12. I can provide JEDI 3 weeks JEDI 2 weeks HOA and Cameron
  13. Who is he playing with. I presume it would be another Saddle Creek band, possibly one of his other projects like the Desaparecidos. Last i heard though he was touring with The Faint.
  14. Plus, im pretty sure its not okay to trade files from Planet Debate (i.e. Harvard Affirmatives, Mandatory service, etc.). Im sure that also goes for Evazon, Big Sky Debate, West Coast, etc. People have to pay for those and if people just trade the shit then the companies won't get money to continue putting out the work that the do year after year.
  15. So far this is the list of teams that have specified who they are debating with on this forum. If anything needs to be changed or added then post the change. Winfield: Cook/Gill SME: Crist/O’neill Mapes/Perbeck Lawrence High: Schwager/Mather ONW: Egan/Parkinson Wichita Northwest: Brazill/Coleman Highland Park: Zeigler/Moore Shawnee Heights: Nelson/Ginn Mickens/Kauffman Tongie: Davis/Smith Hutch: Allsup/Curiel Shanon/Graham McFarland/Wedel
  16. That being if my partner lets me into his house. But, that aside, i apologize for the delay all. I've been putting it off day-in and day-out. So bear with me, i need to/will get my act together on this shit.

  19. CDE blows, you should try and find the West Coast Theory blocks, they are better. Overall, i would just stick to writting your own in the end it will probly be a lot better.

Johnnyb - At the beginning of this thread i made to many assumptions without any substantiation about you. I pointed at you specifically when i should have been making a statement about the other 9/10 people who pull this shit. I apologize for calling you out on this and making your issue of obtaining a file evolve into a tangent observation. I recognize this is an Evidence Trading forum, but often people take advantage of it in order to perpetuate laziness and shitty debate. Obviously from other members of this forum it would seem that you are less likely to be one of those people. So i do apologize for having called you out specifically. Hanover - Holy Shit, for trying to stop someone from being an asshole on a web forum you do a terrible job...You honestly suck at life. Msacko - Your are correct that i jumped to quick at Johnny. But i think that you are wrong when it comes to how someone should go about constructing a critique. I learned the hard way how to do this and its important that other learn so they don't make the same mistake. People need to read the literature first, learn how to construct a criticism, put together their own, and then see if the cards in a camp file have any place in their criticism. The books themselves need to be the reference points, not a camp file. They need to take THEIR criticism that they cut out and lose to better teams in order to see what they can do better in the future instead of using a pre-cut one and lose and not know why. Furthermore i apologize for offending you in any (many) ways. Whats a File - I also apologize for making assumptions of you and making offensive posts directed at you. But when it comes to not knowing anything about constructing a critique (or any other argument for that reason) a camp file isn't the place to start. For more info, refer to the post above. Aimgod - Most of the beef you had with me has been explained above. Bobchillingworth - I hardly think this is a reason to ban me from this forum. I recognize this wasn't the best place for this shit to go down. But it (arguably) had to be said. I sent you a PM with more details on this issue. Felix - Your the only one that i completely agree with on this thread. Your also the only one with a hole large enough to fit about 50 jelly beans in on your back. dzeigler - its to bad every day can't be like the one that you locked johnny out of his both your dorm room in his underwear. That shit was hilarious. In summation: I apologize for vulger language, its cross-x get the fuck over it. Most everything else that need to be said has been. Now i guess someone get this dude a fucking Lacan file.

The reference point should be the authors themselves, they should be reading the literature. If you have questions about how to put together a critique ask someone if a card works for a link, or if its a good impact, or if its a good alternative. Getting those bits of knowledge from a camp file is stupid. You should be putting it together yourself, choosing the best cards from the parts you have read. You shouldn't be looking to camp files for your reference points. You should be reading the literature itself, finding articles on the internet, asking questions, etc instead of looking at a camp file.
