  1. The 2007 Mid America Cup at Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa will be held Saturday, September 29th through Monday, October 1st. We offer competition in Policy and Lincoln-Douglas with a TOC bid at Semis in policy and at Quarters in LD. 6 prelim rounds and clearing to Double-Octos. Hotel information to follow with the invitation available on Joy of Tournaments. We guarantee fabulous judging and tab management. Hope to see you in September.   4. Ummm, well, two boys from CR Wash won the tournament. The runner-ups were two girls from Iowa City City. Is that what you were curious about?
  5. Dixie Waldo is the new Director of Forensics at Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa. Dixie formerly worked in Texas at South Carrol High School I believe and held the office of presidency for Texas Forensics Association. Her background is in IEs and Congress but has had competitive teams in policy and Lincoln Douglas. Valley is very excited to have her and looks forward to an excellent season. Additionally, the dates for the 2006 Mid-America Cup are: Friday September 29 - Sunday October 1. The format is changing slightly this year. The school board and administrators have been very supportive in the creation of this position.     Best Debate Partner- Kyle/Matthew, Travis/David, Dan/Rob. Most Dialed Phone Number at a Debate Tournament- Neal! Scariest moment- Waiting for Doubles decision at Glenbrooks. Nicest People- Jordan Campbell, Anna. Most Famous Quote- "Why are you judging people you coach?" from me. "I didn't know Wayzata was at this tournament." Matthew at Michigan. Best Tournaments- The Glenbrooks, Michigan, IHSSA/MBA. Best Disad on the topic this year- There weren't any that I liked. Best Facebook profile- Alex Smith, it's so detailed. Best LiveJournal- LJ isn't as fun as it used to be. Best Coach- Neav/Stele team-up at Glenbrooks. We functioned at top capacity. Biggest Man Boobs- Best Person to ask if you have an Question - Neal and Jordan. Mostly like team to win the TOC- Valley or Wash or LeMars. Hottest Male Debater: Hottest Female Debater: Best Judge- Someone not from Iowa, and if they're from Iowa, they're preferably not me. I am kurupt. Best Upcoming Team- Dan/Rob and Corey/Patrick. Best Helper in the World- Joe Ellerbrook. Best beat box/free style duo- Kyle/Matthew Most Technology in the State- David Weirdest Affirmative at IFL- There weren't any this year. Best Topicality Argument- The ones that people thought worked on HIV X, and the one that did work on HIV X. Good work Dan/Rob. Funniest Coach/ Person- Kyle/Matthew at Michigan. Kyle set up the freestyle, Matthew executed it. And watching MTV for hours on end during the day was fun. A person who doesn’t allows get the credit s/he deserves - David. Best shirt/tie worn by Stephen Renzi- Light pink shirt/dark red tie at Blake with the brown trousers. Least Fav. Tourney: IHSFL Fall Conference, who was there for me to rep for? Senior(s) you'll miss the most: Kyle, Matthew, Meggie, and Travis. Best novices: I'm partial to Abesheik/Alexa, the Dowling kids are cool too. Best dressed: Myself at The Glenbrooks. The pink pinstripes matched the pink shirt I had on.

  12. I'm not gonna lie, I was a little surprised when David Gobberdiel got announced as the 2nd speaker. There were some very strong speakers in the pool and from talking to people, it seemed as though higher points were given out than what David had got. I gave Justin a 29 when I judged him because I thought he was awesome. Let me know when it gets sorted out. Other than that, the round robin was a lot of fun. Congratulations to GBS for closing out finals.
