  1. The team in question was a girl and a guy, I know that for a good part of the year they were reading landmine removal. As to whether or not they ever read Plumpy Nut, I have no idea.
  2. You'd like to make out with Jake Gyllenhaal?
  3. Contact Scott Jensen from Webster University.
  4. Speak pretty, look like you're winning, don't be too concerned with the flow. It sucks, but that's what you do to win lays.
  5. It's just interesting to me that someone who by their own admission isn't trying to admit they are good can hold such a super critical position of the skill level of an entire community. That's all.
  6. I'm not really looking for a debate here, but a couple of your arguments here amuse me- namely, that bid teams really aren't that much better than what you would see in MO. Then you go on to say "don't take this the wrong way, you guys still suck ("you guys"- glad to see elitism in the activity is still alive and kicking). So, your argument is that simultaneously Missouri kids suck at debate, but aren't really that far behind TOC bid teams, and that backfiles would go a long way to even the playing field. Quite literally, you are saying that no one who does high school policy is good at debate. Am I wrong here? How else was that supposed to be taken? And are you actually endorsing the idea that it's ok for judges to pass judgment on a team because of who is coaching/prepping them?
  7. So, the only thing holding Missouri back from being a TOC powerhouse is a lack of backfiles? Also, care to say which parli teams you've personally watched in round this year?
  8. I like how Lithium Debater didn't even attempt to go back and delete the old posts wanking Liberty off. Priceless. And dirty. Fucking, fucking dirty.
  9. In 2005 Carthage won the reg division. Nixa won the champ division. Settled.

    Nixa

    Carthage A (Johns/Boydston) over Parkview A on a 3-0 in finals.
  11. For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure the decision was 3-2 in quarters between Parkview and Carthage as well.... at least that's what I was told.
  12. Yeah, because high school kids definitely shouldn't be allowed to participate in an activity they enjoy.
  13. Oh the irony of people who want debate to be open to different kinds of arguments dividing different styles into "real" and "wrong" debate. All I know is that if I'm judging a round, I'd rather watch a team that goes slow but is making good arguments as opposed to a team that is speeding through a really shitty kritik or an awful CP because that is the "real way" to debate. The champ circuit in Missouri these days seems to have a fair number of people in it who aren't nearly as good as they think they are.
