  1. To make this short--dispo is an arbitraty, contrived standard that legitimates any type of counterplan. It forces the AFF to eliminate their best defense, and causes the 2AC to reveal their strategy, allowing the block to exploit the AFF. It also dosen't allow you to debate the status quo, which is key to affirmative ground since net benefits aren’t predictable. Perms are also key to AFF strategy because they serve as a shield against extra and non-competitive counterplans. I can explain this more in depth if you wish or if you don't understand something.
  2. Version

Table of Contents The Midterm election makes its debut in the Thursday File this week. The story is Bush's nightmare. The GOP will retain control of Congress thanks to their hardline national security strategy. However, If they deviate from their tough on terror image they will lose. Democratic control of Congress leads to a Senate that impeaches Bush for misleading the country into the Iraq war. Impeachment destroys the last remaining bits of the American financial system, collapsing the economy. More impacts, AFF answers, and other important updates are included as well. Good luck!

My internal links file is on sale for only 5 bucks (half off) from now until 8:00 PM October 24th. Pick it up. It DOES contain 2004/2005 cards, and they are ALL specific to the Presidency of Bush. This comes with some blocks as well and will win you any internal link debate.

    Politics

    Version

Table of Contents The politics DA is in almost every debate, whether you or someone else runs it. Likewise, you will use this file in almost every debate. In this file you get all the political theory ranging from Ornstein to Light. The difference between this file and most other politics internal link files, is that this contains evidence that is all specific to the Presidency of George W. Bush. There are only a few cards from those nasty political science textbooks. Why read cards from 1995?For the affirmative, you get a solid core of offensive arguments with extensions galore. For the negative, you get answers to all the 2AC theory and link turn arguments as well as new link arguments you can read in the block (which will likely be dropped). The strategic value of this file—it answers any politics DA, specific to GW Bush, even if you don’t have specific answers to the scenario. If you buy any update files like the Thursday File, or run politics in general, it makes no sense to not buy this file. Those last you just a tournament, this file however, can last you your entire debate career. MS Word by popular request, for your formating convenience. Also, feel free to email me with any questions that you might have about the file, I’m glad to help.

    Mercinaries

    Version

Table of Contents This counterplan hires private military firms to solve conflict instead of supporting UN peacekeepers. 2AC offence will not link to this counterplan. Why? The text is a paragraph long and specifically designed to fiat out of all the bad things mercinaries are known for. The first piece of solvency evidence is excellent on this question. The 'DynCorp will not be used' line by itself eliminates significant amounts of 2AC leverage. This is best used in conjunction with the net-benefit cards from my Special Unilateralism counterplan. You can then indict the effectivness of UN peacekeeping and compare it with private firms, which empirically have a financial incentive to get the job done. Money talks. Lots of blocks once again. All my other DAs are net-benefits to this as well.

    Bangladesh

    Version

Table of Contents Bangladesh is the number one contributor to UN peacekeeping operations and has conducted missions in over 10 countries. This is an international agent counterplan that has Bangladesh give all necessary resources to do the plan. The first trick to this file is that the US has recently trained Bangalesh troops and given them all the technology they need, so the counterplan is functionally US action! There second trick is that there are a TON of add-ons and the permutation can't solve any of them. The counterplan text says “all necessary”. This means that if they win the US can solve, then in the world of the permutation, Bangaleshi action is no longer necessary and the permutation becomes do the plan! This counterplan has blocks and I added an international fiat block so you can defend the theoretical legitamacy of this as well. 2AC answers and a 1AR block are also included. All my other disads are net-benefits to this as well.

  14. Version

Table of Contents This is not the normal unilateral counterplan file. This file is the twist. The counterplan mandates the US pressure other nations to act. There are cards (and an excellent block) to why this aviods any of the reasons US action alone fails. The net-benefit cards are all pieces of evidence that assume structural reasons UN peacekeeping will inevitably fail. Having the US do peacekeeping outside the UN mandate dosen't link to these, so you will solve their case BETTER. You need this if your going to run the unilateral counterplan. You shouldn't run it as a generic--suprise them with this creative way to aviod the 2AC barage of solvency deficits. My other disads, except for military overstretch, are all also net-benefits to this.
