Crispy 21 Report post Posted November 8, 2016 What are some pretty good K's to run this year, I know there's Imp K and Cap K, but I want to try something new
lamarjenkins 15 Report post Posted November 8, 2016 the state department trade off K with a track 2 alt but seriously Pan links to a lot of affs, and the blend of security and orientalism it offers allows you incredible flexibility for turning the affs offence and having plenty of external impacts
MassGenocideSolves 52 Report post Posted November 8, 2016 Spanos is a fun k to run. Um there is the obvious Pan-Security-Orientalism combo. Political Geography is also neat, pretty effective too. Then there is the Neolib-Cap stuff that is generic. There really are so many options, but I'm too lazy to list them all, so if no one else responds I will, but others will handle it. Lordofthefli3s 17 Report post Posted November 8, 2016 pan and security is good this year, unpopular opinion but suffering reps and apoc discourse links are improving ( i like these a lot ). communicative engagement is pretty okay but if you use it as a K aff you might get asswrecked on T. Neolib links are also really strong this year but HSS's knowing china K is also pretty decent

TheSnowball 1433 Report post Posted November 22, 2016 what is communicative engagement? i've heard of it several times before I think it's the K Aff version of security with communication as a solvency mechanism.
ahen 3 Report post Posted November 23, 2016 what is communicative engagement? i've heard of it several times before We had one at my camp it's essentially the Pan K as an aff, you start with a diplomatic dialogue (aka communicative engagement) and through that you try to solve for American perception of China and action towards China, the first contention was basically outlining the fact that the threat is securitized and we would be safer and better off without this mindset and the second contention of case just outlines that the dialogue would solve the issue. I can get you the 1AC if you're interested in the aff.

CalculusBC 94 Report post Posted November 23, 2016 Anything HR. There's good evidence of dehumanization in both china and america, and you can cut evidence that states we should evaluate HR first. UNHR and HRW also put out some good empirical examples, so you can have answers to "Empirics first before theoretical impacts."
