Taiwan Aff for China topic

Recommended Posts

Nice double post btw

Probably, depends on what you mean by Taiwan Aff. I see the biggest being diplomatic treaties between China and Taiwan that the US is involved in with heg war and econ advantages (though econ link chain is not good), you could try and pull some slipery stuff and just engage with Taiwan either saying Taiwan should be considered as china (you could argue moral or definition basis, though moral would require the judge to buy that T and fairness is a bad thing which they wont) or engage with china via Taiwan, IE "The USFG should do X diplomacy thing with Taiwan towards china" or possibly have the US serve as an intermediary between the two. This is just some brainstorming though, ultimately the way the topic is formed will be decided at camps.

QPQ means you can get anything going as long as you have a "China says yes" card or as long as a "China says no" card doesn't exist (obviously make sure the exchange is within reasonable limits). For example: The United States Federal Government should (sign x treaty, give y to china, do z action) if the People's Republic of China recognizes Taiwan as an independent nation.

I'd say no - Taiwan is already only considered part of the Republic of China, not the People's Republic of China. Plus, Taiwan is pushing for independence, depending on if that is achieved or not could be a make-or-break T arg.
