[LD] [Autonomus Medical Choices] - KAA99 (Aff) v. Danhep (Neg)

Recommended Posts

Same times as previous, but different sides. We need as many judges as possible! Res = Resolved: Adolescents ought to have the right to make autonomous medical choices.

How does the value of Ethical Egoism link into the res?

What does it mean to be an Ethical Egoist?

Will you agree to not sever out of the U.S. if I run U.S. specific links?

What do DnG mean by Fascism?

What's the status of the AC?

What does the observation mean?

How does the value of Ethical Egoism link into the res?

An adolescent can be an Ethical Egoist

What does it mean to be an Ethical Egoist?

Being self-interested but in a moral/ethical way

Will you agree to not sever out of the U.S. if I run U.S. specific links?

I mean I am not passing a plan so you can run links off of that. But I do advocate for everyone to be the Nomad in order to uphold Ethical Egoism so everyone in the US will apply.

What do DnG mean by Fascism?

Desire desiring its own repression

What's the status of the AC?

Unconditional

What does the observation mean?

Procedures that do not benefit health or save a life (such as aesthetic procedures) will have to be paid for by the adolescent - anything else will be paid for by the parent.

Feel free to ask more questions

So you won't sever if I run U.S. specific links?

What does it mean to "Be self-interested but in a moral/ethical way"? That sounds oxymoronic - if someone is an egoist, they would be self-interested (EX: rob ppl for money)...

How does affirming make us nomads? The card seems to talk about how nomads work outside the state...

Are any of your card specific to adolescents and med choices?

If you can explain in a few sentences (without just copy and pasting taglines), what is the thesis of the AC? I never faced or read DnG before...

What would be the impact if I read indicts to psychoanalysis? Does that take out your offense?

So you won't sever if I run U.S. specific links?

Yeah if they apply to my advocacy and are actually relevant to the people who advocate nomadism.

What does it mean to "Be self-interested but in a moral/ethical way"? That sounds oxymoronic - if someone is an egoist, they would be self-interested (EX: rob ppl for money)...

An Ethical Egoist won't rob people for money because it is unethical - to be self-interested in a moral/ethical way is to take actions to better the self and make sure those actions are ethical - if they are not ethical, then the Ethical Egoist will not take those actions.

How does affirming make us nomads? The card seems to talk about how nomads work outside the state...

By laying out an impact scenario, people will realize that the Nomad is the way to go - it is the only way to be free from striation

Are any of your card specific to adolescents and med choices?

The first Deleuze and Guattari card talks about community psychiatry in the family, Hamilton is really specific - but it does not matter, all my cards do not have to be specifically about adolescents and medical choices.

If you can explain in a few sentences (without just copy and pasting taglines), what is the thesis of the AC? I never faced or read DnG before...

Society's need for the adolescent to stay in the family (and have the parents/guardians make their choices) is grounded in the psychoanalytic framework of the nuclear family. If the adolescent denies this family, then society will deem the adolescent as Oedipus to colonize their epistemology into fascism.

What would be the impact if I read indicts to psychoanalysis? Does that take out your offense?

I mean I can't tell you how your offense would affect my case until you actually run it - but I will be nice and say that the AC indicts psychoanalysis so don't run that

What do you mean by "actually relevant to the people who advocate nomadism." If I run U.S. specific links about the resolution (no specific plan), you won't sever out and be like "do the aff everywhere except U.S. trolololo"?

What is ethical? How does affirming/nomadism make us ethical egoists?

What does it mean to be a nomad?

If I solve fascism better, does that mean I win?

Is there a difference b/t DnG's fascism and micro-fascism?

Oh no. I won't do that. If it applies to people who are nomadic then I won't no link bc that's severance of the advocacy.

What is ethical? How does affirming/nomadism make us ethical egoists?

Ethical is determined by how it fairs in society. If it harms society then it is not ethical. If it does then it is unethical. Nomadism makes us ethical egotists by allowing us to escape striation structures. We do become self interested but it is ethical as we care for the good of society.

What does it mean to be a nomad?

Free from striation

If I solve fascism better, does that mean I win?

Yeah sure we can debate that.

Is there a difference b/t DnG's fascism and micro-fascism?

They are essentially the same. Micro-fascism is talking more about the individualized fascism in society while fascism is the general term.

What do you mean by "If it applies to people who are nomadic"? If I run a DA, for example, that talks about U.S. specifcally, that's fine?

Yeah if it applies to the people who I advocate to be nomadic

What's the link to the Constitution DA? Like how does autonomy conflict with the Constitution/Supreme Court Rulings?

What's the impact to the DA?

On the cap K, do we have to get rid of capitalism to have a universal health care system?

Do you live in a capitalist system?

What's the link to OOO?

Are you using a computer or technological device to do your bidding in this debate?

Is the aff about ontology?

 Violates 14th Ammendment

What's the impact to the DA?

Its a phil NC - not a disad

On the cap K, do we have to get rid of capitalism to have a universal health care system?

UHC is a physical policy to move away from cap

Do you live in a capitalist system?

 Depends who you ask.

What's the link to OOO?

You only focus on oppression from the human perspective. Oedipus complex. There's also a link of omission.

Are you using a computer or technological device to do your bidding in this debate?

 Yeah.

Is the aff about ontology?

The aff is about affirming the res.

Explain "the rhizome of dichotomies" on Best.

Basically, the human-animal dichotomie is the root cause of all other opressions, or "fascism" as Deleuze would say.

Can't ethics and morals essentially be the same thing?

Yeah

Doesn't Bostrom contradict the premises of OOO?

No. The extinction scenario I read is about total destruction.

How do we fight capitalism?

 By the alt - rejection

Do we have an individual responsibility to reject capitalism?

A societal responsibility

Is the United States Constitution always right?

That doesn't matter - it's the constitutive document that generates state obligations.

Is the state always right?

If it follows the Constitution

What is correlationism?

Totalizing the ontology of other to the human perspective. Bryant uses it synonymically as anthro.

Res. violates constitution which the US is obliged to follow.

Do you live in a capitalist system?

 Depends who you ask.

I feel U.S. is moderately capitalist.

 Your disicussion of oppression (Oedip

us) is from the human perspective.

I thought a varsity policy debater who read a DnG aff would know /s.

So then what happens if the US violates the constitution? I just want to know why this is so important.

The Constitution is the only thing that can obligate the U.S.
