Is there any way to sidestep this issue? or is there a better converter that has the ability to convert these types of pdf's?

kylerbuckner 1164 Report post Posted April 23, 2015 (edited) I know adobe has one. My laptop came with it. If you have you just Right Click on the PDF, Click Open With, then with word. IF you have it, that is how you use it, but if you don't have it, I don't know how to get. EDIT: If you have a book and you are having trouble converting it to a word doc, just PM it to me and I can convert it for ya. annabelle08 11 Report post Posted April 23, 2015 I've been using the Adobe one recently and while it isn't free, it is definitely worth it and does a fairly good job
jobas 453 Report post Posted April 24, 2015 (edited) Abbyy is amazing. I ended up getting this and it works great. It would've been better if I would've had it before I typed all of "Postscript on Societies of Control"... ); Edited April 24, 2015 by aram
BhavDawg 51 Report post Posted April 24, 2015 I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but you can use Google Drive to easily convert image files into editable text: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/google-drive-convert-image-to-text Basically, you do the following: 1. Upload the pdf/image to Google Drive. 2. Click on the file once so that it turns blue. 3. Right click on the file to open up the options menu. 4. Select open with Google Docs. This should automatically convert the image into text that you can copy into a Word document. Hope this helps.
