Mummyhandgrenade 46 Report post Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) After watching all of them I realized it was just a bunch of people talking. Although it does have implications, the authors intended it (I feel) as an example of how white people interpret whiteness, so my question is moot. SnarkosaurusRex 2831 Report post Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) Is this a joke? Or is it just to point out how racist white people are? Stop being so racist, jeez. Edit as a response to an edit: my remarks were not serious. Edited October 25, 2014 by SnarkosaurusRex
Snarf 3598 Report post Posted October 27, 2014 what do you think of it so far? Sociologically, I think the dataset is interesting and am curious if it will become part of a conversation on race that is accessible to moderate and conservative whites. Politically, I fear it will become a circle jerk where white producers give further talking time to white people on race - but that's left to be seen
Tyes215 5 Report post Posted October 29, 2014 what do you think of it so far? In reading the goal of the project, I think it is probably fairly important to understand how all identities engage in the race discussion. However, I agree with Snarf, I think it needs to be used along with other narratives, rather than just more whiteness absent any other discussion.
