Theory spike / Framework in policy?

Recommended Posts

pointless, unless you want to start the trend.

Some people read impact calc at the end of the 1AC.  Like, bostrom and such.
Util cards for extinction comes first are often read.

I know on lay circuits framework is often read in the 1AC like 'no new 2NC arguments'

You could experiment with ethical stuff,

Most policy judges just think 'ethics' is deontology so cards like the bostrom parliamentary model will confuse the hell out of them.

Kritikal affs sometimes have a "Framing" contention, where they preempt common arguments like Extinction First, or they'll read role of the ballot arguments and such

As an Lder that has done both, Policy generally follow a Conseq FW so Util may apply.

Ethics and Policy generally don't go together.

K Affs are really your only way to go for Ethical Arguments.

Theory spikes would do the same thing as they would in LD. However, it would be extremely important that you extend them in the form of an actual shell and not in paragraph form in the 2AC. Also you should probably do some clear explaining of what extending it out of the 1AC means in terms of the round.
