Case

Explain the Schroenberger and Peet args?

Schroenberger- Your discourse of competitiveness shapes how people interact and how we see intervention. So when we approach IR with the idea of "competitiveness" it becomes a race to the bottom. this discourse allows us to justify anything in the name of competing.

Peet- heg bad. nah but he's saying that your assertion of like "we need hegemony soooo bad" justifies imperialism and genocide, which empirically causes structural violence that doesn't factor into your calculus.

FW

1) You state that our approach to fairness isn't neutral... What's not fair about you getting your k's and me my plan?

okay, Zizek and Daly talk about how capitalism naturalizes this idea that like "everyone can win in capitalism with hard work and interacting in the capitalist marketplace" but this isn't so, and this applies to FW because your idea of fairness just reinforces it.

2)on nayar, how do you form real world Education?

so there's a couple things... traditional fiat policy debate won't be a huge internal to education for most of us, most of us won't be government officials or policy makers . However, in the real world we often have to question our actions and the actions of institutions, and that's why the alt solves better. also, we have to question our perspective to gain a better understanding of real world violence

3)Why is your FW preferable to ours?

i mean all of our offense is a reason...

FapCap

1) what happens after cap is rejected?

heinberg says we can transition to peaceful, localized economies but now is key.

how does our fairness reinforce this? all it stipulates is that you cannot wish away the 1ac

can we get a warrant on this?

right but we're saying you have to justify your advs. we don't "wish away" anything, we're simply saying that defending capitalism with the idea of "don't press us here, its not fair" reinforces capitalism because it deflects questioning the epistemological constructs of capitalist discourse and policy proceedings

1) what happens after cap is rejected?

heinberg says we can transition to peaceful, localized economies but now is key.

What is stopping this from being a capitalistic economy?
