Time Travel

Primitive Middle Easterners don't understand science. Obviously we must invade and bring their civilization enlightenment. It is for their own good.

Some bigots agree...

The only thing that will give us a shot at building a democracy in an Islamic land is a mass conversion of its people to biblical Christianity. So that means if we want to see freedom come to those darkened, benighted lands, we should be sending missionaries in right after we send in the Marines to neutralize whatever threat has been raised against the United States. ...we have no hesitation about returning with lethal force if the forces in your country threaten us again. This time it’s Marines and missionaries, next time it’ll be Marines and missiles.

Of course this 'enlightened civilization' to Bryan Fisher should model “ancient Israel†and require every immigrant to “convert to Christianity.â€

Does this come with small pox free of charge?

Serious question: one of those articles asserted that if time travel were possible you could only go back as far as the instant when the machine was created, does anyone know what the reasoning on that is?

S

Dr. Gerald Cleaver, associate professor of physics at Baylor, has done quite a bit of research on traveling faster than the speed of light.

Is there any physics stuff Bryan's dad hasn't done?

teve hawking pretty solidly debunked time travel by saying that if it was possible, we would already be seeing people from the future, and held a party for time travelers to prove it.

Well most physicists  argue that you can't go backwards. But you can travel faster/fast as the the speed of light so that when you stop the journey you will be younger than everyone else (theory of relativity) and BOOM you just time traveled.

I want something along the lines of time travel solving for things or creating some huge benefit.

Well, if there is no free will, I would think that traveling back in time (not as an observer) would change nothing and put you in infinite loop of going back in time, as you are predetermined to travel back in time.

Have you never done original research before?

pshhhhhhhh

Yeah, and did you see the sites it pulled up? Everything I can find is either about the dangers of creating a paradox or the different scientific theories that are capable of creating a time machine. I can't find anything on what a time machine would do to help us besides the obvious "there's better technology in the future"

There's a halfway satirical article about time travel solving terrorism somewhere online.

I'm guessing it's that terrorists can go back in time instead of trying to bomb us back in time?

Chunkry has an extensive time travel good/bad file but Chunkry left it at the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance in 1955. Chunkry's apologies.
