Prefiat And Postfiat Cap Ks?

Recommended Posts

Is the Cap K generally run as postfiat or prefiat? What kinds of impacts would you have to be making in order to go either way?

It really depends on the link... I know that UTNIFs 2010 lecture on the 1off k (on debatevision), higlighted how you could read multiple pre and post fiat links to leverage and choose how you wanted to go in the block.

Personally, I think that pre-fiat (ie. discourse) links are generally better because it stops the policy affs from being able to weigh impacts with the k. If you choose to run it post-fiat, you generally have to win either impacts outweigh (ie. root cause) and timeframe (sometimes), or a floating pik in the block.

If the impacts are post-fiat, it's probably more of a disad than a kritik.

Ignore all previous responses in this thread. To Chunkry's knowledge, Capitalism Kritiks commonly feature sub-fiat links, though Chunkry's good buddy Zizek is rather partial to reading trans-fiat or contra-fiat links if you have a lay judge. Don't hesitate to read your Cap K with mono-fiat links if you're afraid of losing on un-conditionality good. That's a debate not even Chunkry wants to have.

To clarify, the Cap K is more of a PMN than a disad. Unless you choose to fuse it with queer cyborg performativity. The impacts to Cap K's are self-explanatory - most people read impacts that say collectivism is the tribal premise of primordial savages who, unable to conceive of individual rights, believed that the tribe is a supreme, omnipotent ruler, that it owns the lives of its members and may sacrifice them whenever it pleases to whatever it deems to be its own “good.â€

Good tidings.
