morality is relative and derived from subjective judgments

Recommended Posts

Any proposition X is objectively true just in case X is true regardless of the existence or opinion of any mind. Imagine that there is a universe that only contains a red chair. In that universe the proposition "there is a red chair" is objectively true. Moral propositions cannot exist independently of any mind because morals are by their nature preferences for one state of affairs over another state of affairs. If I prefer Z over B then I have a preference for Z. There is no other sense in which a normative judgment could exist, since the very idea of normative judgment requires a preference for one state of affairs over another state of affairs, and without someone to have that preference the idea of a normative judgment is senseless. In what sense could the statement killing is wrong be true independently of any mind when deciding that something is wrong requires a mind. It makes no sense to think of the abstract principle killing is wrong being true in a universe that contains only a red chair. the notion is incoherent-it is nonsense.

You started three separate threads with the same argument in three different forums?

Right after your very first post on the site was calling Policy Debate stupid?
