KU Debaters During KU OSU Game

Recommended Posts

Shout out to Peterson and Wilkins of the KU debate team that had a short bit during the KU Ok St. game tonight. It was awesome to see the community represented on national television!

They're going to be on some radio talk show tomorrow too. Nick Wright is the host's name. I don't know what radio station he's on.

Kennedy and Quigley are rolling at CEDA Nats-- won all eight ballots and were top two speakers. Outstanding year continues for Kansas KQ.

Kansas KP also doing well.

Kansas State MZ pick up 7 ballots during the prelims and are through doubles (I think).

The real March Madness bracket is can be found in this thread http://www.cedadebate.org/forum/index.php?topic=2269.0

unless i'm a bad facebook user, i believe emporia state is doing well also-

Sam Maurer says:

Emporia CM defeats George Mason on a 3-0 to advance to the octo-finals. Emporia WW loses on a 2-1 to Cal-Sate Fullerton. Great tournament for WW and another one coming up Friday. Toya was 10th speaker in the nation, Ryan was 4th speaker in the nation. Emporia CM debates Whitman in the morning. Thank you all for the support!

Sorry Hibbs- I missed that.

Emporia State MC is in Octos against Whitman HZ currently.

Great tournament for Emporia State WW as well.

There use to be a thread with college results for Kansas grads, I thought it was interesting but it must have been deleted.

Three teams from KS are in quarters right now:

Kansas KQ (Sean Kennedy/Dyaln Quigley) vs. Towson CK

Kansas KP (Patrick Kennedy/Mat Petersen) vs. Whitman HZ

Kansas State MZ (Beth Mendenhall/Derek Ziegler) vs. North Texas SK

I think it's really awesome that at least four of these very successful debaters still participate in the KS high school debate community as assistant coaches.

RCJH!

Great point and I will also add they all are active judges on the high school level. I think college debaters and older debaters giving back to the activity is critical.

They are all great people. Good luck in NDT!!

Your 2011 CEDA National Champions: Beth Mendenhall and Derek Ziegler of Kansas State University.

Mendenhall was also selected as CEDA Debater of the Year.

That's amazing. Congrats to K-State on an absolutely incredible achievement. IIRC this is their first National Championship since like 93 or 94? How many does this make overall now?

Looking forward to see how KS teams represent at the NDT also.

Mods can you move all the K-State posts to it's own thread? It's weird that K-State's National Championship is discussed in a KU thread.
