Will this round be recorded? It'd be interesting to see the same debate in such different contexts.

I'm working on recording and live streaming rounds at the Round Robin. I've currently got enough equipment to live stream 2 rounds every round and record 2 other rounds every round. Will keep everyone informed.

Please get that GDS-Beacon round filmed if possible; I know a lot of people want to see that.

You know, you might know people going that you could ask to film rounds too. Just a thought

Ross and I are teaming up to bring you full extensive coverage of the round robin. Hopefully we'll be able to provide live streaming video coverage of rounds or one round delayed recordings of the round.

I've e-mailed all the Round Robin participants to get them to fill out video releases so that we can video record them at the round robin. If you want to watch your friends and favorite debaters rounds this Thursday and Friday, please give them a reminder to fill at the form over the internet.

More specifically, Ross and I don't have e-mails for the following debaters:

Damiyr Davis

Miguel Feliciano

Erin Sielaff

Arjun Vellayappan

Mihir Vedantam

Thanks,

Scott Brown

We're now going to try to record every round because there should be 6 recording devices at the round robin, as long as all of the video consent forms are turned in.

Since we're only going to be able to live stream 2 at a time, we're taking vote for who you want to watch each round!

Beacon trolls ---

Do you know if Miguel and Damiyr are over 18? I can't find their e-mail addresses anywhere.

Also, a couple updates:

Video release forms are coming in, so we should be able to provide coverage of at least a bunch of live rounds at the RR.

I have one of my computers working for live stream right now, but my MAC isn't working with it. Anyone know the technology.

Hassle your favorite debaters competing in the Harvard RR to sign the forms so we have permission to video tape them!

Thanks

Scott

C'mon Scott, who do you know in high school that is 19?

BTW: just beg Eli Gold for it, worked before.

Hey, everybody.

This is pretty cool. I'm sitting here with Scott Brown in my office who's just had a successful test run of all the software and hardware necessary to get this thing running. It turns out, it takes a lot of resources to run these streams, but I think it's gonna be pretty awesome.

It looks like, right now, we have waivers from all of the debaters in at least one debate each round. Several rounds we've got two. If we get back enough of the waivers, we have the capability of streaming three rounds at a time thanks to Ross Garret volunteering to run the third stream courtesy of Cross-X.com.

The rounds are gonna be hosted by UStream and embedded on Debate Tub along with a live chat where those watching can comment on the action.

The first round starts at 9am. I hope you all are as excited about this as I am. This is a pretty cool collaboration between Debate Tub, Cross-X.com and Capitol Debate and an awesome test run of some of our ToC coverage ideas!

Can you guys make the full video files available online? (ie in a torrent or a file-sharing site) for those of us not able to watch them live?

Yeah I'm going to make them available on my website after the tournament. It is part of a new project I'm starting to house lots of live debate rounds for people to watch like and then have the ability to look back on for educational purposes.

Follow all of the coverage from the following link:

Special thanks to David from Cross-X for figuring out how to stream my mac live without any ads.

We're still missing a couple forms, but we have enough to at least cover one round every round at the round robin.

The link we set up between the server and my computer is not working. We're doing the best we can with UStream right now. Taking the ads of UStream is really, really expensive.

That being said, Round 2 is up and streaming.

Round 2 - Westminster AT (aff) vs. Centennial LM (neg)

Round 2 - Edina SS (aff) vs. Greenhill PP (neg)
