Never thought I'd hear someone naive enough to think the Yankees pitching will "power" them through anything. They don't rely on their pitching, that's why when they wanted to buy the world series they didn't acquire any prominent 2nd or 3rd starter to close a series. I think the word aging needs to be thrown out here.

Dub8dude 2142 Report post Posted October 5, 2010 I think at some point all events in the sporting world are cosmically tied to me, insofar as that I have a set amount of Sports Karma, and for every one of my teams that does good, another one has to do bad. The Dodgers were the sacrifical lamb for a Lakers championship and a Final 4. The Lions already suck so it appears that the Giants have to do well to balance out MSU footballs success. gopal 142 Report post Posted October 5, 2010 I actually kinda like the Reds against the Phillies. I'm not saying theyre a favorite or anything, but at +240 to win the series, I see no reason not to put some money on them. Their rotation is at a, uh, small disadvantage but they play really good defense and they can straight up mash the ball.

Bruce Willis 732 Report post Posted October 11, 2010 While I usually default to rooting for a California team to win the NL I'll admit the Rick Ankiel homerun will probably forever be etched into my mind. Perhaps even better was the reaction in the dugout, including the coach who didn't even look up; he just knew from the sound it was gone. I'm glad at least one LDS is enjoyable. Dub8dude 2142 Report post Posted October 14, 2010 Anyone else really excited for Lincecum/Hallady game one? OMG...I'd rather watch the NLCS than the ALCS...what's wrong with me? This is like 2007 for me. Just hard to care. If you ask me who won the 2007 world series, id have to pause for a moment, just because it was so unremarkable. (Red Sox over Colorado)
