Public Service Announcement for Kansas Debaters of Today

Recommended Posts

I thought everyone knew this but I read a couple threads tonight on various boards while I was bored and realized some don't.

99% of all people on cross-x are morons. As such it is best to avoid taking advice from anyone on cross-x about debate and instead to consult your coaches, elder squad mates, assistant coaches, and trusted judges on debate issues.

Additionally cut your own files and do your own research but if you feel you have to purchase it and are having trouble making decisions between authors look at their qualifications and determine them that way. More often than not it will indicate the better file.

...and if you aren't sure who makes up the 1%, I'll give you a hint, it isn't someone with over 1,500 posts...

I'm largely addressing consulting people you know ONLY through cross-x not people you know personally but who happen to post on cross-x.

Quite true. Everyone I can think of from Kansas got steered to a coach or assistant coach when they asked me for help. I think the most anyone ever got was cites for your two girls this year. I know from experience anything I think is a good idea probably won't win ;)

Hay hay now stay off of the Alex Bash train... It only leads to one place getting schooled (i would be a card carrying Cross-X advice giver... and yes 99% of all the information on any forum besides the "coaching" or "judging" forums are completely useless)

Just remember Kiddos Listen to your coaches they understand your region skill set and possible copetition better than any kid with a cpu who thinks thier a debater. o yeah!

Ouch. In my defense, I've been posting almost exclusively in the Sports Forum, thank you.

couldn't agree more.

the amount of misinformation on cross-x is mind boggling, especially with regards to K's.

if you are seeking outside advice, check these websites instead of cross-x:
