To remedy the problem, Kerpen conducted a purge intended to delete threads in which people hadn't posted for a certain amount of time. He used the date of the threads' creation to determine which ones to delete. The creation dates for all the best threads in this forum - lyrical battlefield, conclusion, moments, etc. - were before the date selected for the purge. So they're all gone. All the older users are really upset about this and don't feel that the students currently posting in this forum have a sufficient degree of respect for the work they created in the past. This has sparked a debate as to whether or not those threads (or, more accurately, their names) should be held to a certain standard of reverence. Many younger posters are upset by the old-timers' categorization of the way in which they've used this site. That's pretty much all you've missed, Vora. Welcome back.
