I'm going to UC San Diego. I don't know yet if I'll be debating though, since they don't really have a policy squad. Maybe I'll be able to work something out.

You should do NFA-LD if you can get up to the tournaments in the LA area. It's basically one-on-one policy with less work required.

Yeah, I was actually thinking about doing NFA-LD. I guess I'll see how it goes. Is that what you're planning on doing?

Yeah, UCLA doesn't have much support for CEDA/NDT and I'd rather have a more balanced college experience (in terms of the hours/work/schedule). Plus, I'd be a big fish in a small pond which is nice.

It's so nice of you to not include me on the list. :wavey:

Also, I think Mitch Hagney from Bishop Guertin is going to Trinity. I'm not sure where Katryna and Chris are going though.

Jason -

Will FSU approve of your endless speeches that consist of you rapping Eminem's "Lose Yourself"?

In all seriousness though, I'm sure you'll do great in college debate. Good luck bro.

Going a step further, I've never seen Washington at an NPDA tournament. WashU does a particularly old school style of parli run by the APDA active primarily on the East Coast. I still don't get it, but it's the opposite of progressive, whereas NPTE/NPDA style debate is evolving quickly in a more progressive manner. Speed, Projects, K's etc. are all a major part of the game in the more widely practiced and advertised parli leagues. Parli is worth checking out if you're a policy kid. It's a lot of fun, and it does give you some unique views of debate, though, in the right league, it's still incredibly policy theory. The best teams are made up of good high school policy debaters.
