NotreDameDad 17 Report post Posted May 4, 2009 (edited) I spoke to my son briefly after the round (quinn powell). Lex broke a new aff that involved military - not exactly sure what it was, but I do know he went with security K Congrats to all the teams who participated in this year's TOC, and to those who broke. A special congrats to the ND team, Quinn and his partner Chris. I am very proud of them. ""does anyone know what happened in the lex sk vs. notre dame round?"" WHSJello 56 Report post Posted May 4, 2009 GA is good and obviously has a high attendance and even higher ratio of attendants to out round competitors but making predictions based on land mass is pretty irrelevant. UT is small, small population and qualified three teams this year! good year for high school debate, highly competitive, i'm proud it was my last. good luck in out rounds
theglobalcowboy 624 Report post Posted May 4, 2009 The breakfast has either happened or is in progress, so pairings and speakers should be coming out any moment, as they've already come out in LD. Also, Katryna Cadle from Bishop Guertin won the Julia Burke Award.

BonKers89 9 Report post Posted May 4, 2009 to cross-x.com. Congrats to chris and kittykat for being awesome again. Shame on the debate community for being hoodwinked into thinking kittykat is a nice person (julia burke award, really?!) Chris and kitty, if you're reading this, my advice to you is to run spark in the quarters. it's an unbeatable argument, even if lexington judges refuse to vote for it. Also, you two, where did you get into college? Anyone else with this information is more than welcome to post it, because they seem unwilling to tell me. Bon Koo Georgetown '11 ps, anyone notice how fucking annoying the search function is on this website? Do I really have to know what a "formal process in which two teams adopt and advocate the affirmative and negative side of a proposition" is?

kevinwy 237 Report post Posted May 4, 2009 anyone know what happened in the fullerton vs. colleyville round? Fullerton ran an aff amending CAFE standards to require SUV owners to to meet the same fuel economy standards as passenger vehicles. Colleyville ran a Swine Flu Politics Disad, T - Pos, a Command and Control CP, and an Anthropocentrism K. They went for Anthro K, and Fullerton went for the permutation in the 2NR.
