Tentacle Monster 62 Report post Posted March 8, 2009 thanks, a little off topic, but do we need 8 or 10 to qualify 2 to nats at districts?
double d 72 Report post Posted March 8, 2009 10, and we have 10, but we will deal with that later Akash
JaredFanning 601 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 We do not have 10 so far but, according to Mr. Whitney we don't need 10 because of the number of degrees. We will qualify 2 no matter what.
double d 72 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 We have 8 but that is enough to qualify 2 because the total distrct entries r there
VelCrowe66 197 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 There are two ways to be eligible to qualify two teams: 1. Have 10-29 teams. 2. If the district in question earned 900 or more new members and degrees the previous year, then there is a quota bonus. That means each event can have two qualifiers if there are enough to qualify at least one team (which is four in the case of policy debate). Mr. Whitney must be referring to the latter. I have no idea whether or not the Hole in the Wall district earned that many new members and degrees last year, but if it did, then we're good to go. Tentacle Monster 62 Report post Posted March 10, 2009 we went over entries today, and joy of tournaments says there are currently 8 policy teams signed up for districts. The Nebraska Teams haven't signed up yet tho, so the numbers that are in are likely to change. I don't know if they have any policy teams tho... JaredFanning 601 Report post Posted March 10, 2009 They don't ever have policy. It might not matter plus Gillette and Newcastle have been known to throw teams together so that our district quals 2 teams.

DB8T 253 Report post Posted March 10, 2009 East is limited to four policy entries, can't enter any more. All schools are limited to a max entry at NFL districts to 4 per event.
