Our coach mentioned this before.

I remember him saying something about how in the future we as humans will just become batteries for machines and our lives will be simulated by a computer program VERY similar to the Matrix.

He might have just been talking about it as an impact to cap or something like that. Sorry if I didn't help but just wanted to throw that out there.

David Icke (the Illuminati dude) writes a lot about how we are in the matrix and it is controlled by the lizard people

why do people come up with such retarded ideas? Research a policy option and claim hegemonic wars as an impact like everyone else.

its called baudrillard. the first matrix movie is based on alot of the tenets of Simulation and Simulacra. in fact the book that Neo uses at the very beginning of the movie to hide his illegal shit was a copy of Simulation and Simulacra.

Think about it.

We are all fooled into believing we live in the "real world" when we are really in a simulation (matrix). That copy of the Real is so far beyond the original that its now a simulacra (the difference b/w real world and matrix). A copy without an original which causes bad shit (the war).

the third movie at the end even has elements of zizek/lacan as far as transcending the lack.

great philosophical series.

Transcending the Lack? Dude, the Lack is there. Even when you are talking about the Lack the Lack is there. Notice that this very explanation is Lacking. You cannot traverse the lack. You can traverse the fantasy, which covers up the Lack, but not the other way around.

I don't get how this relates to this year's resolution...

Clearly if we don't stabilize the energy grid the matrix is going to collapse.

theirs a matrix argument that when u try to beat the system the systems just using you for another way to control the system case turn theirs some good ev for it like when Morpheus finds out the proficy he lives by is the system using him to control him u can see how that applies

Baudrillard writes about the Hyperreal which could be interpreted as the Matrix...

he's also dead. you can't use evidence from dead philosophers.

Excuse me? This can't be right. Adam Smith's claims, for example, are still WIDELY used today.
