Dr. Fox On Socks 3928 Report post Posted November 13, 2008 Norris is correct. Though I too am not posting his answer so it's still open. Here are some answers that may help... (21:58:23) ######: did the con man make overtures that he was involved with the contest? (21:58:43) deusdealia: no (21:59:18) ######: is this a real life example? (21:59:39) deusdealia: it's possible in real life, but I don't know of any case where it's happened (22:00:11) deusdealia: and, of course, there's no guarantee it would work in the real world either, but it could Note, Norris informs me that there are real-life examples of this happening (22:00:36) ######: was there only one letter? (22:00:40) deusdealia: no (22:00:51) ######: were there two letters? (22:00:57) deusdealia: no (22:01:16) ######: were there between 3 and 8 letters? (22:01:45) deusdealia: let's say 8 (22:02:33) deusdealia: although this con is possible with a minimum of three letters and increases in effectiveness (for the con) the more letters that are sent) (22:02:51) deusdealia: and there is no maximum (22:03:01) deusdealia: but 8 works for our purposes (22:03:15) ######: did the con mail the letters to other people? (22:04:05) deusdealia: yes
