Why are all you people bashing the corral? It is a very fine establishment, even though my partner got sick there once. Besides, you do not have to be old to enjoy food from nearly every end of the planet.

Wow Mr. Thomas, I am astounded on the amount of work you went to to provide an accurate representation of the Golden Corral. I take back my reciprocal trolling comment, and I will call Mullins off. I'm sure you're already pretty worn down with Kevin, he's pretty intense.

More to the point though, who else is going Friday?

I deleted some posts to make it easier for teams to see who is going and judging. I'll restore all the posts next Sunday after the tournament. For anyone who missed a discussion about Golden Coral was had, Mark Thomas made some jokes with Matt Haynes, and people from BVN and BVNW commented on golden corral. Plus Deskboy received positive comments.

A. Kendall, that was unnecessary, I thought Mark was very clever, and his wittiness should be shared with the debate community.

B. Also, Haynes/Huston and Thies/Rippburger from ONW are going.

A. The excitement of a week makes it all the better.

Jared (et. al.), I have some bad news. I have to stay behind on Saturday to run a novice shin-dig. I'm going to make sure Skoglund brings the big plates, but he'll have to hide them from Ms. Burgett, so shhhh . . . don't tell ANYONE!

It's this type of leadership that makes you a great coach. Thanks Mr. Plate Man for being there in my time of need.

Josh,

I must say that I am devistated by your lack of attendance at washburn rural.....who else will sit at the fat table with Sam and I now? And who will be there to point out rogue doughnut frosting on people?

sad sad sad...

I think that bringing big plates is a violation of activity association rules.

Perhaps you should bring it up at the next coaches meeting. We need standard sized plates people!

Semis were SMW vs. SME and SME vs. Blue Valley.

Burgett will probably post something here when it's over. Failing that, the bidtracker thread at Ad Astra will be updated Monday.

Thanks to all who attended, especially to those who judged and make our activity possible. A special thanks to my squad who worked hard and made their coach proud. We hope everyone had a great time.

I must make a public apology for sweeps. In my mind, I thought it was figured one way; my invitation said something else. I figured and awarded sweeps, and the traveling trophy will stay as it is, but I am planning to crown a co-sweeps champion. My deepest apologies to all involved.

There were also 3 4-1 teams in the Varsity division that didn't break. I know that Newton was one but I can't remember the other two.

Two of them were Newton, the other was the ONW team.

I think that those teams deserve DCI bids. To go 4-1 and come away empty handed is pretty brutal.

You could amend the bid rules to say that teams with 80% or better w/l after prelims of a bid tournament also get bids.
