CHSAA State Qualifiers 2008

Recommended Posts

When Steve Larue does some lurking and reads this I'd like to point out that the results were posted about 45 minutes after I left the tournament.

Good job to everyone going to state, I judged a lot of the qualifiers today and saw some awesome Creek/Kent "smackdowns."

UPDATES: Sorry about spelling errors.

Kent: Mcdonald/Griffith 4-0

Creek: Kaufman/Siegal 4-0

Creek: Hoth/Cromer 3-1

Creek: Hilger/Rackley 3-1

Kent: Spafford/Daniels 3-1

McDonald doesn't happen to be Jared McDonald? His name hasn't been up on these boards this year, and frankly, I was expecting it to be mentioned quite a few times after last year.

One other congratulations for you CX type: Justin Midyet, CX debater from Golden (whose partner ditched him to compete in skiing) qualified in National Extemp. He'll see you all there.

Yes, Jordan, I believe McDonald is referring to Jared.

Congrats to everyone, see you at State!

Did pueblo south not qualify? Are results for that region even posted?

It looks like there are going to be around 25 teams. Remember the days that this tournament was able to break all 2-1s and almost field a full double-octos round?

Don't you just feel so old?

Also, when did Toby become the new CX-archivist (no offense greg)?

For the record, East will only be bringing 3 teams. Hambidge/Toaspern will not be there.

I bet you can find it at CHSAA's website. Usually speech rounds start at 8 am Friday; CX doesn't start until 11. CX debates a guaranteed three rounds Friday and used to break to a partial double octafinals round, if necessary, on Friday night, though I doubt they will this year due to the declining number of teams at State. There are four rounds on Saturday: (partial) octafinals, quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals.

But I have no idea what the Poetry schedule is. You should check CHSAA's website.
