It is a bogus case, basically what they are doing is they are going to take ten years to get this bacteria that willgo in Mosquitoes, and then they will release them into the wild and it will breed with other Mosquitoes and then Malaria will cease to be transfeed by Mosquitoes.

only one camp i know of put it out and that was west texas a&m i know of one team running it but as long as you have evidence on it you should be able to defeat it. also they only solve for meleria and they increase the pop of the mosquitoes so other viruses the mosquitoes can carry will increase due to bigger population of mosquitoes.

if you let me know your e-mail i can send you some neg on gm mosqitoes, i did a decent amount of work on it a few months ago because a team in my area was running it

there's some major solvency issues, like time frame and any actual success, and then we made some DA's that could kind of be like turns, they dont have super impacts but they pretty much communicate that using gm mosquitoes would be bad

See the last few posts in this thread for a discussion of GM mosquitoes. Good idea, no real way to implement it. Dismal solvency.

Tomak is right. Any intervention link works, as does effects t. It takes a bazillion steps to implement plan.

Plus, it is possible that the genes will fade out as the mosquitoes assimilate with the population.

Here's some articles from the first five pages of a Google search...

GM Mosquitoes wouldn't out-compete wild relatives (which is a prerequisite to their solvency)

A bunch of random skepticism

Mosquitoes would breed with non-modified ones, loosing gene

Some researchers in India tried something similar and gave up fearing ecosystem disruption and the like

as i understood it it was a case that would release terminator mosquitoes. A certain species of mosquito that already exists and hunts the species that carries malaria. I thought it just released them strategically.
