KS - Comprehensive National Qualifiers List

Recommended Posts

Will people start updating this as IEs/Congress/etc roll in? I realize that it's not as cool as debate or whatever, but some of us who have wandered far away from Kansas wouldn't mind hearing about who's going to Vegas...

In past years, this list has included IE's/PFD/LD/Congress.

Right, I get that. I guess I'm asking is that, now that most of Kansas has its Congress stuff figured out (I think?) it'd be nice if someone'd post it.

I had a quick question that probably seems dumb, did Nick Ramsay not debate this year? I saw him at Nats last year and thought I probably would again this year, just curious

NFL Sunflower Congress

Senate-

1.) Sen. Munday, Goddard

2.) Senator Coleman, WNW

House-

1.) Rep. Stevens, Andover Central

2.) Rep. Ansari, Wichita East

3.) Rep. Freeman, Wichita East

The exact order of House may be incorrect but those are the right people. First alternates for both are:

Sen. Lickteig, Wichta East

Rep. Peer, Wichita Heights

Clarification of the above: Nick Ramsey, returning from his third place finish at NFL, did indeed debate for Springfield Central this year. He did not, however, qualify for either nationals or for the Missouri State tournament.

See? It's not just us that sort of thing happens to...

This one goes out to Joshua Madden:

The LD qualifiers in:

2. Andy Beye, BV

3. Simon Yu, BV (replacing Michael Rawitch)

Public Forum:

2. Andy Beye, BV

And now for the Main Event, Public Forum:

Does anyone know when the legislation packet will be coming out. I had also heard rumors that they were dividing it up and was wondering if anyone knew much.

It will generally be out early-mid May. It has not been released yet, but I'm sure it will be soon.

They divide the legislation into two different sets at nationals. Certain chambers will debate one packet and other chambers will debate another set. They provide the list of which districts will debate which set so you know which to write speeches for. Everybody debates the same set of legislation in semi-finals and finals, which is a completely different packet.
