Newton Nov 9-10

on a 10-1 decision, yes a 10-1 decision...

Wow. Last year's final panel was only seven. Impressive!

Congrats to both teams.

McPherson's Greg Loving and Teel Short broke to quarters in Open, dropping to Forbes/Brunner, but I have no idea on their seed.

Yeah, it was Kapaun CS (aff) vs. Hays HR (neg)

We forgot our framework file at home, and thus as a result, dropped hard. But it would have been a 7-4 decision I think if we would have argued it. Regardless, it was a good round, even though the 10-1 decision says otherwise.

That sucks about the file, but congrats on getting into finals.

Who were the 11? The one dosen't have to be named...

It happens, I've been proud to squirrel on some panels :)

Not that this panel was another example of that......

Some of the people on the Varsity finals panel were: Molly McGuire, Gloria Funcheon, Brian Box, Will Swanson, Sam Davis, Jason Robinson, Hannah Born, Elliott Dickinson, and myself. I can't remember the other two.

HUGE congrats and props to Mr. Bill and Phillip Bradshaw, and every Newton debater in tab for a very well run tournament. The only thing that didn't go right was the 3rd round pairings, but it was fixed within 10 minutes.

This is one of very few tournaments who provide judges that give very well thought out decisions, and provide oral critiques that actually tell us how to improve, or what to do differently.

Congrats to all the teams who competed, and Andrew/Carl, it was fun to have another WDW throwdown.

I second Haley. This tournament was awesome.

Hopefully I can judge there next year if I'm not too far away.
