thanks to everyone for judging. especially crowe, t cram, pinto and beach. i think we had each of you at least twice. the whole tournament was excellently run and judged, we didnt have to go slow except once i think. to the greely girls, it sucks that we had to hit you twice one round right after the other, but that was a good round, that space neg is tite. email me if you would like it.

gabe and jordan you may hate russia, but it hates your plan even more ;). that was an excellent final round, by far the best we have had in a long time, and i think you are right that the CP disad combo needs a lot of work. i will send you the latest copy soon here, just IM me.

and finally thanks to casi for a wonderful tourney, muah.

I want to also say that the tournament was excellent. I want to give a shout-out to the Laramie girls (sorry I'm forgetting your names) for being willing to run that argument despite many of the debaters making fun of you. That took a lot of courage and I commend you both for it. To Will: Russia can suck it. Lets see if they don't radiation poison the globe?

I would like to say that George Washington was obviously not thinking about my personal politics when they read their aff. Who would ever defend libraries in front of me? Seriously. Not cool.

Also, a red spread debate would have been awesome.

I wish we had had the files for that, because I agree.

Also, reading is cool man...even if in Denver libraries are just places where hobos can look at porn and teens can steal music...

Oh Pinto, you and the fascist librarians...

To return to the main point of this post:

Thanks to all the people that made the tournament super fun, to the people that judged, and the novices that let me judge them. Seriously, you all should judge novice division if you ever have the chance, it's quite entertaining (in a good way).

Congrats to Will & Rose, Gabe & Jordan, Paul & Patrick, Courtney & Lincoln, and the rest of the Quarters and Semis teams. I'm kind of dissapointed I didn't get to see any of those rounds in their entirety, but I'm sure they were amusing.

Finally, I'm not sure if it's accurate/helpful, but additions to Katy's results:

Speaks

3. Alex Reid

4. Kid from Fort Collins (Can you tell I'm horrible at names yet?)

Happy Holidays to all, and good luck to those of you with finals this week!

Just a quick correction, Alex Reid from FoCo won 1st overall speaks (with a 1-3 record somehow), the kid from Fort Collins that was fourth is Ruwan Jay. Second place went to Will from Denver East, and the rest, I don't know.

That makes sense, I remember Alex doing extremely well. Maybe Lincoln was 5th in that case? Anyone else remember?

No. All I remember is that I envied those speaks trophies. From now on, all speech meets should replace trophies with giant mounds of chocolate. It would be significantly more delicious, and probably even cheaper.

Well, our debate coach makes us give him the trophies, so we can display them, so Alex had to give up his chocolate. It was Hershey's milk chocolate anyway...I wouldn't want that.

Hey thanks. We weren't made fun of so much as made the targets of vitriol and spite (and some pretty mean-spirited lies concerning what we are going to do with the money). Which I suppose is to be expected when you are making a conscious attempt to undermine people's weekend. In any case, thanks for a most excellent round -- you guys handled the K the best of any team we've debated, and deserved to win (according to traditional debate framework anyway :D

Peace.

Seriously, you need to convince your team to do this for the GW meet. It would making winning sweeter.
