Joel Kasten

Kyle Shernuk.

At GSU, Buff Jiggins and Bricker went 8-0 and Nate Johnson and Chris Stone were also undefeated. They're first and second seed in some combination.

KSU Beth Mendenhall (STA)/Kyle Zarazan (BVN) dropped in quarters. Mendenhall was 8th speaker.

Zarazan gives killer 2AR's...KSU MZ is going to be a good team this year.

I heard Toni Jantz(MAC) and Charlie Clark(ON) from UMKC made it to semi's in JV.

Actually we were walked over, but the idea is correct.

And, well, I guess we're the only Kansas kids on the squad up here, so that's it.

Toni

Also at Georgia State, KCKCC threw our freshman into the mix in JV, thinking we were unprepared.

TJ Dubin (SM North) and Melvin Kirkendoll (Emporia) were 5-1 in prelims and dropped to Miami, FL in Semis.

Noah Fugate (Tonganoxie) and Austin Montee (St. Joseph C.) were 4-2 in prelims and dropped in Quarters to Samford.

Not bad for unprepared!

Kudos to the KU Open teams--both 8-0 after prelims.

Some other cool Kansas finishes;

Michigan FK went 7-1 and lost in the Doubles. Dylan, formerly of BVN, was 3rd speaker. They'll be debating again soon at the Kentucky Round Robin.

Fort Hays HS beat Emory CS in the doubles and lost to eventual champions Emory HW in the Octos.

Congrats to Kansas, Bricker/Jennings sounded spectacular and although I didn't see them I know Johnson/Stone did, too. Bricker was the 11th speaker and Jennings was 15th. Balllllin

Cookie dont you have some speed drills to do? : )

You said,

"I'm almost positive Taj Dubin is not a freshman. and melvin has been out of high school for a while...but i have no idea how long he's been in college."

I didnt mean they were all freshman--TJ the exception. Melvin has not been to college until this semester so he is definitely one. As for TJ's hours I cannot confirm or deny his "status" due to FERPA regulations but I can tell you, he is JV eligible. Of course, I think you are too. Wanna come debate? : )
