is the person involved in some sort of negotiations for their company?

does the job involve transportation of goods?

Is it necessary in the job (during the work day) to talk to people (other than just as checkpoints/small talk/talking to boss)?

How many people are involved in this job?

Is the number of people involved important at all?

Is what these people do group work? Individual?

Do they travel to these countries virtually through the web or they actually step foot in the countries?

Does their job include providing important information vital to the countries?

Are these people trying to strengthen relations to each other country, especially their own?

How many people are involved in this job?

Irrelevant

Is what these people do group work? Individual?

Irrelevant

Do they travel to these countries virtually through the web or they actually step foot in the countries?

That's already been established, they physically go there

Does their job include providing important information vital to the countries?

Irrelevant, all you need to know is that they deliver goods

Are these people trying to strengthen relations to each other country, especially their own?

No

Does he work for an international organization?

Does he travel by car?

By Bus?

Train/Subway?

Does he live in what he travels in?

Are the goods being delivered to all the countries he visits?

Just one country?

No

So.... the person travels to 9 countries and dispenses generic goods that we don't care about and doesn't talk to people and is very important (regardless of who the person works for) and is kind of like a diplomat?

...and they arent just like... a trucker?

Is there much more to establish about what they do?

should we guess about things they do besides dispensing goods?

are there important things they do besides dispensing goods?

should we guess about the company?

should we guess about the diplomat-like-ness?

should we guess about the distance travelled?

IS it one person?

Is it more than one?

The orginal post is confusing. One person wakes up, but multiple people are going to countries. Please explain.

Yes

and doesn't talk to people

No, the person talks, but the content of their conversations is irrelevant.

and is very important

No

and is kind of like a diplomat?

No

...and they arent just like... a trucker?

More or less, they are.

Is there much more to establish about what they do?

Explain how they travelled to nine countries in less than eight hours without leaving their timezone.

should we guess about things they do besides dispensing goods?

No, they deliver things. That's all you need to know.

should we guess about the company?

No

should we guess about the diplomat-like-ness?

They're not a diplomat, we know what they do, but that's getting warmer.

should we guess about the distance travelled?

Why not?

On a boat and traveling through territorial waters to fish or something?

No, they stay on land the whole time.

Also, there has never been more than one person.

I think the ambiguity about number of people is because of the "they" - apparently people here don't edit their cards for gendered language ;)

And other people need to ask about the diplomat-likeness... because im a bit confused on that.

Was the country travel sort of optomized to hit a bunch of countries? Like, travelling on borders so you effetively double your countries as one example.

Optomized to minimize travel back home? Like, they travelled in a circle or other way that means they don't have to hit the same country twice.

And you said that it wasn't in any specific place, but i assume that there are certain qualifiers that would rule out places, yes? (i'll guess those later...)

so all we need to do is figure out how, logistically, he travelled?

No

I'll give another hint, with the exception of their home country, the person does not re-enter any of the countries on their journey and after doing their deliveries in each country, they return to their home country before going on to the next one.

And you said that it wasn't in any specific place, but i assume that there are certain qualifiers that would rule out places, yes?

Yes, there are many places in the world where this feat can be done, however there are also many places where it cannot be done.

so all we need to do is figure out how, logistically, he travelled?

More or less, figure out what allows the person to do nine countries in 8 hours without leaving the timezone (and why would they have to return to their home country between deliveries?)

Could he only carry enough goods for one country at a time?

Was the importance of going home other than getting more goods?

If he takes a plane it would be very simple to go to nine different countries in Europe in eight hours, going home each time. It would have to be a fast plane though.

No, in fact there's no reason why the person couldn't carry all the goods at once.

Was the importance of going home other than getting more goods?

Let's just say that they physically could not go anywhere else without going back through their home country.

If he takes a plane it would be very simple to go to nine different countries in Europe in eight hours, going home each time. It would have to be a fast plane though.

Well, they're not on a plane. So hah!

On a boat and traveling through territorial waters to fish or something?

No, they stay on land the whole time.

is he taking over the countries he visits, thus unable to return to them but able to be back in his homeland?

That would be a pretty powerful deliverer. No

Precisely. Not necessarily in DC, most world capitals could also work. The person travels to the embassies (which, for the uninitiated, are the soverign land of the sending state, thus technically part of that country) and delivers things (the reason why I hedged on whether they were a government employee was because they could have been a mail carrier or state department courier and done the same thing as a private shipper like UPS or DHL).

We have a winner, please lock the thread.
