Hey, I had a lot of fun posting of this thread from last year. My posting on cr-x only comes once a year, and now is that special time. I still read over last years thread though, as I am easily amused and have such little of a life that it should count as nothing. 1> Best Debater Overall- Alex Tweeman.(Brookfield Central) I'd put Ann Yooan here also, but I can't understand a word that she says, because of here bronchitus. It truely is a travesty that they didn't break. (Or win the tournement for that matter)

a) Best Senior Debater...look above.

b) Best Junior Debater...Gayrave Buttknocker.(Marquette) He got first speaker at Wake this year, and is racking up wins at every tounement. He did a very good job in Finals this year, and is impressing everyone.

c) Best Sophomore Debater...Ocihon,(Neenah) I've never seen him go Neg, but he knows both of his affirmative cases very well, and gives excellent 1ars. I can only imagine how good he is on the Neg.

d) Best Fresh(wo)man Debater...Darshanky Wanky.(Brookfield Central) He won a tournement with little O, and went 3-0 at state. Look out for him next year.

e) Most Improved Debater...Katie Korematsu. (Brookfield Central) Last year, as a Novice, I was so involved with ZacH and omit being on the team, I didn't hang out with a lot of the other Varsity members. I didn't know Katie that well, but now I am glad to have her as a partner.

f) Debater With Most Potential...Mr. UH-sad, and Mr. UH-sad. Last year was their first year going switch-side, and it seems they get better every tounement.

h) Best Team/Pair...Brookfield Central TY



2> Best Round Overall- Picking one round as the 'best' is not only arbitrary, but immoral. For example, the round where Booters fell asleep might be deemed as the best, becasue it helped him get sleep. Also, if you pick a good round, you forget about all the bad rounds, and those can be very funny. The day humor is lost is the day that I kill myself.

a) Best Round You Watched...Finals at State. With Alex and Ann out, and Marquette against us, I was so nervous. I was shaking so much I couldn't even flow.(not that I can anyways) I think some people noticed my odd behavior(IV, in particular), and I just wanted to clarify now that I wasn't on speed or anything, I was just worried. Also, it had free soda and pizza, how can you not love that?

b) Best Round You Debated In...When I hit NoLun and Kettles at Madison. Kettles went for Demands bad, and yelled at the Judge after the round.


3> Best Program Overall- Mar ket. Nulan, Badderman, Monov, Gurka, and Newnan is a very impressive coaching staff.

a) Best Program For Novices...BCHS, we had a record year for how many Novi joined the team. I believe we have done a good job.

b) Best New Program...That depends on how you define the word "New"

c) Most Improved Program...That depends on how you define the word "Improved", we lost Zach and omit, did we negetively "improve"?

d) Program You'd Most Like To Debate For (Other Than Yours)...Mar ket.



4> Best Argument- Gender-Spec.

a) Best Affirmative Case... Monkies!

b) Best Counterplan... Consult Nick Brown, answer to the perm- Nick would say no to you!

c) Best Disadvantage... Politix, but for case specific, I'll go with the WOT.

d) Best Kritik... Covert Ops

e) Best T/Theory Argument... T-Substaintial is without material qualifications, just because it is so untrue yet people win on it.


5> Best Specific Skills

-Best 1AC... I'm going to put Ocihan for this one. He has two very good affs, and him and IV can go straight up policy or Kritical and debate very well.

a) Best 1NC... Tieler Jacksin, He is fast and does a very good job setting up a round that Gayrav will (usually) dominate in his 2NR.

b) Best 2AC... That depends on how you define the word "2"

c) Best 2NC... Karli Wonderlick

d) Best 1NR... The Yooan, when she doesn't sound like the Senile Senior Citizen from Hell.

d.5) Best 1AR... Alix Twemun

e) Best 2NR... Gayrave Buttknocker

f) Best 2AR... Ande lee, particularily, the one that won him state. It's rediculous that he won by making 5 blipy theory args in the 2AC.

g) Fastest Debater... Ann Yuan, she's so fast, that no one can understand what she's saying!

h) Funniest Debater... I'd have to go with Kettles. "I feel so dirty" and dancing to the robot are just some classic Kettles momments. I would put down Booters, but he no longer debates.


6> Other Stuff

a) Favorite Tournament (in-state)... Appleton East

b) Favorite Tournament (out-of-state)... EGR

c) Favorite Judge/Critic... Badderman, he has his own website, and is the Budda of debate. He has his own website, and knows everything. Honorable mention to Nick Bubb, who has the same first name as me, the same initials as me, and can be called "Mister Bubb"

d) Weirdest Round You Saw/Debated In...1st break round of MadWest was weird, between Ande Lee and Cati vs. Nulan and Kettles.

e) Best Non-Debate Experience at a Debate Tournament... " Jingle Bells, Badderman smells, Nolan laid an egg, Tyler wants Steven Wheil and Gayrave did Ballet! Hey! "

f) Funniest Thing You Stumbled Upon While Researching... I cut a thirty page article at camp on why the patriot act was the worst thing ever. Then I noticed that it was written by "plastic glasses"

g) I would say that Kettles is the best dancer but I haven't seen Ocihan dance. They'll have to have a dance off sometime.

d.5) Best 1AR... Aaron's. They're pretty damn good with time allocation. We really never go neg unless we have to in prelims so I really can't think right now.
e) Best 2NR... GBhat and Aaron give really good ones. Both damn us every time.

g) Fastest Debater... Annie Chen but shes effing incoherent
h) Funniest Debater... IVIE AND OSAHON. I'm ALWAYS laughing when I'm around them.

b) Favorite Tournament (out-of-state)... Uhm Blake is just fun to see people and debate in hotel rooms.
c) Favorite Judge/Critic... Allison Eggert (our perm cards make out) and Bill Batterman, he is effing ALL KNOWING.
d) Weirdest Round You Saw/Debated In... Every round I have against Aaron and Jacinth is just weird because of weird circumstances or comments made in round. They're always repeats of each other.
e) Best Non-Debate Experience at a Debate Tournament... uhm... Iowa was a good time with Max and Matt bonding. haha oh the laughs (I have a farm)
f) Funniest Thing You Stumbled Upon While Researching... nothing really interesting this year

I've noticed Amjad Asad's name up there a few times. I debated with him at camp during the fourth week of GDI and I'd like to take complete credit for not only his K blocks but any and all improvement he's ever made. Maybe some of that had to do with his instructors/sibling/work, but that's irrelevent.

Ebben asks for counterplan text, and Andy says "I said at the end it extends...". Carly looks at Andy, and pretty much calls him a douche right in the round. So what does Appleton West do? Takes Andy's word for it.
e) Best Non-Debate Experience at a Debate Tournament...Dunsirn and I walking through a snowbank trying to find a bar that is open. We did not succeed, but saw a very nice variation of Christmas lights throughout South Milwaukee.
